I agree with Dave. Before the book was out, I received a call from the movie company wanting to purchase one or more 1958 Fury's. I was listed in the WPC club roster as owning several at the time. The movie company had acquired 2 cars, a Fury and a Belvedere. He wouldn't tell me what the movie was, just that it was from a book. The book didn't come out until a couple of months later. He said they needed cars for a scene of a production line from the 1950's. I offered to rent the cars, but he only wanted to buy, so I figured they would be destroyed. The guy asked me what was unique about the 1958 Fury, so I told him about the limited production, the gold and the 350 engine. I was glad to see the movie used the Golden Commando 350 engine in the movie. I didn't sell them any. That was before the movie deal was made. -Dave -----Original Message----- From: Steph Burlew [mailto:sb57fury@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, March 02, 2002 12:30 PM To: goldenfin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [GFS] 318 in Christine I also wanted to imform you that Christine was originally supposed to be 1957 plymouth fury not a '58. When the movie was to be made at the time they could not find enough '57s ,so the car was changed to a 58.
