I took a drive up to one of the places where Forward Look cars go to die and donate their parts for the others still on the road. Here are some pictures from my May, 2009 visit.

As long as the hydraulics are good, a forklift trumps jack stands every time.


Getting ready to pull the rear axle assembly.


If you are experiencing excessive body flexing on rough roads, it may not be the suspension nor the body mounts. The latter can't do much good if there is no body to mount up to.


The axle and driveshaft are out of the way. Notice the shock mounts hanging from the shocks.


Torch time!


Using the "flame wrench" to remove the exhaust manifold studs.


The alternative was to soak down the nut and threads with Zep or Liquid Wrench and let it penetrate for a while. This sped things up considerably.


Time for some fireworks!
