| This might be the wrong thread for this, but I came across a listing for a group of these cars near Denver that are being sold off, are in parts-car condition and going for $850 per.

Location: The Centennial State | That is nifty kind of "hoard" - the pink 57 two-door sportsman seems like a pretty good deal these days at $850. It hasn't been picked apart and looks less rusty than several of the others. |

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA | I got in touch with the seller, who is located about 30 miles east of me, and I'm scheduled to stop by and take a look at the cars this weekend. I don't much care for building/owning any DeSoto besides a 1956 two-door; I'm interested to see if he as any that are good starters for a future build. Aside from 1956 two-doors, I'm curious to see if any of the Hemis have survived. At $850 per car, I'd tow away a 1956 couple two-doors and possible a couple others if they still have the Hemis and transmissions. I hope the cars haven't sat too long at the location he gave me since that region gets a lot of snow in the winter and nasty 1" and even 2.5" hail in the spring/early summer pretty regularly. We just had 2" hail over that way a few weeks ago. I'm expecting bad rot in the inner/outer rocker panels and floors but might be pleasantly surprised. |
