Location: Pau, S-W France | Hi all,
I need an opinion on a curious part welded on the frame of a 1959 Imperial 2dr H/T. I don't know how the frame is there but it seems to me that there is something abnormal. You should know that the car is too high in the photos but it seems to me that this stopper was welded on purpose so that the car is not too low.
Then it may be a problem of the image (distorted perspective?).
I specify that this car is not next to me but more than 2000 km away and that I am trying to help a friend who wants to buy it.

Location: So. Cal | It looks mostly normal. Probably an optical illusion from the angle you are looking at it, or he may have it a little overloaded, but not sure. This is what it looks like without any weight on the springs.

Location: Pau, S-W France | I think you're right, i don't have any pics of 58-59 rear frame; the different FSM show the same location for the rear spring support but i know that '58-59 springs are 2" longer. As the front spring is at the same location the rear must be moved back.
Her's the location on a '57 frame.
So I worried a bit too much but by asking here I'm glad I got the solution

Location: Pau, S-W France | I've found two pics from a '60 2dr HT which confirm that they are original supports. Better welded in 1960 !
