Expert 5K+ Posts: 9748 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: So. Cal | I just picked up an Upholstery and Exterior Color Combinations book for the '58 Chrysler. This one doesn't have fun transparencies of cars to change the colors on, but it has a lot of good fabric & paint color info that I thought I would share here. The first few pages are devoted to the allowable color combinations. You could probably get a custom ordered combo if you wished though, so I don't think it was absolute. The color code is as follows: A: Raven Black B: Stardust Blue C: Air Force Blue Metallic D: Midnight Blue E: Spring Green F: Cypress Green Metallic H: Aztec Turquoise J: Spruce Metallic K: Satin Gray L: Winchester Gray Metallic M: Mesa Tan N: Sandalwood Metallic O: Tahitian Coral P: Matador Red R: Shell Pink U: Bamboo Yellow X: Ermine White Z: Champagne Gold Edited by Powerflite 2021-04-15 2:52 AM (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 00.jpg) (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 01.jpg) (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 02.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

The white spots you see here are really silver metallic thread that looks great weaved through the fabric like it is. That one doesn't have a metallic look to it. (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 09.jpg) (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 10.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Cal | The New Yorker received a really neat "Fontainebleau" fabric that looks elegant with the patterns sewn into the seats. The New Yorker sedans were accompanied with an even softer bolster cloth than what the Saratoga sedans used. These combos were also used on convertibles and New Yorker wagons as well. (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 13.jpg) (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 14.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Cal | A Windsor sedan could have been ordered with an optional all-vinyl interior for the kid-centric consumers to improve the wear factor. But now they are in leather! Edited by Powerflite 2021-04-15 10:54 AM (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 21.jpg) (1958 Chrysler Paint Fabrics 22.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: The Mile High City | You said a mouthful, Nathan! Bob in Austrailia sent several images to me of his '58 De Soto colors and fabrics book. Maybe we should start a new sticky thread for images of these books? Great resource material and ooo la la, difficult to obtain.

The scanner isn't able to capture the metallics very well. I'm also taken aback at how good the '58 Windsor red/gray fabrics look together. That would look stunning with a good pattern to lay it onto.
