So instead of going the logical route and using old cars from the 20's to create this, he decided it would be better to use a 58 Desoto as a base for his project. I mean, was he trying to make extra work for himself??? Why fabricate a frame for the body work when you could just go out and find some old derelict Model Ts and forgo that step entirely??? Plus wouldn't that be more authentic??? On top of that, of all the cars he could have used, why a 58 Desoto??? Why not a car that is more common and easier to find parts for??? Why not just fabricate a custom frame yourself???

If you could buy this for the starting bid ($1,000) it looks like you'd have a good engine and other drivetrain parts for a reasonable price.

Always look at the bright side of life.....

I'm 100% in support of customizing. But this is probably the worst example I've yet come across.

The Desoto chassis is far too low for a Munster Koach. Obviously the drivetrain is all wrong too. The bodywork (?) is ridiculous.

As said, this is a great pile of parts to get a '58 Desoto back on the road.

What else would a Mustang fan do with a DeSoto? I wonder where the body is.
Why does he have a '57 steering box if the car was a '58? The rear spring mounts do look like '58 versions though.
The VIN: lp2e35812, doesn't match the Fireflite description and the "350 Golden Commando" doesn't match either of them.
Was this car really a '58 Plymouth Fury? I couldn't think of a better use for one!

Look at the dash, definitely a 1957-58 Plymouth gauge panel. I'm beginning to get a sinking feeling in my stomach...

The steering wheel *was* definitely a '58 Plymouth deluxe wheel before he hacked it all up to customize it.

Looks all to be easily undone and perhaps start off with a nice base.

And you have some wood for the fireplace and some nice metal scrap to make cabinets off.

I don't think there is any defending this one. Terrible.
