Expert Posts: 1267 Location: San Antonio TX | When I saw the first pic, I was thinking "Not too shabby for only $600." ....then I saw the other pictures. It seriously looks like a giant karate chopped the car. It's some pretty unusual looking damage. Not sure if this is rust or impact damage. Maybe both? Curious as to what caused it. Best I can come up with is that a tree or pole fell on it, and it was left to rust after that.

That or... meteorite hit it! Yeesh that's a candidate for the rustiest thread. I sure hope this not the last DeSoto. That would stink if ended up like this. Edited by macedon 2017-11-16 6:26 PM

Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | WHOA! Definitely a candidate for the rustiest thread. The whole roof and package tray structure has completely rotted out and collapsed. I've never seen that before either. Even in the Pacific Northwest how does something rot like that? Or maybe the Karate Kid do go after it?

Location: Parts Unknown | I saw LOTS of cars over on the wet side of Washington and Oregon like this when I lived there. It was a primary reason why I left. A car could begin to grow moss on it, if just left in the driveway for a year ! Stuff left out where leaves and other organic debris would accumulate didn't stand a chance.

Windows leak, the carpet gets wet, that holds the moisture and there goes the floors.
