Extreme Veteran Posts: 395 Location: upstate new york | Fellow Forward Lookers, I have a 1957 Chrysler New Yorker...Exterior paint colors Jet Black and Cloud White for the roof and insert....I've seen all sorts of paint chip layouts for exterior colors but how about the interior colors....My interior is many shades of green....are there paint color charts for interior colors also? If I wanted to replace the carpet, how do I know what color it is? Re-do the seats, door panels etc....is there a reference regarding interior colors...Thanks billy

Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Billy: Some of the paint chip charts contain information about interior colors. I don't know about 1957 Chrysler, but here is a sample for 1958 Dodge (Reduction 1958 Dodge Color Bulletin 25 Sheet 2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Reduction 1958 Dodge Color Bulletin 25 Sheet 2.jpg (241KB - 77 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | This is what I have seen years ago. There was a general upholstery book by year (I saw one for 1959), that had all of the American cars in it - Ford, Lincoln, Chevy, Cadillac, Chrysler, Plymouth, etc. You are going to have to find an old auto upholstery shop who may have a book squirreled away for your year. Even if you are one or two years off, it will give you a very good idea on what colors went with your car - headliner, seats, carpet, etc. Not easy to find. You said you have green. Then there probably was a group for red, group for blue, group for silver, group for white, and a group for tan or even a group for mauve. Back then, interiors of cars didn't always match colors perfectly with your roof interior. Another way that might work for you is to bring up 1957 Imperials on the online Imperial website. The Imperial owners are a God send for the amount of information they have posted over there. Imperial two tones were not that much different than New Yorker two tones, at least you could make an educated guess. Good luck, already been down that road.

Expert Posts: 1737 Location: Hay Lakes, Alberta, Canada | Billy, I have a '57 New Yorker parts car, that has a green interior. I'll help if I can. It's a (was) a 4 door hardtop. Not sure if the paint colours would be the same as a 4 door sedan or 2 door hardtop though...
