Hey all!

New to this forum, but not to classic Chrysler products. Ian Smale recommended I join here too.

I currently own a 1954 Chrysler Windsor 4 door sedan and a 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet Convertible (Canadian model.. basically a Dodge Dart GT)..

I just yesterday bought this 1955 Desoto Fireflight 4 door sedan. Last running 4 years ago and in deteriorating condition after having been sitting outside and neglected for years. Clearly it was well-loved and a member of the WPC Club for years before the owner passed away. Thankfully, it is not too far gone to save. It's all there and in pretty solid shape. The interior is still beautiful. Power windows and seat.

Thought I'd share a couple pictures of it now and then of progress as it gets the love it deserves.

Best

Kent Karemaker

Dad had a '55 Fireflite 4 door sedan in Emberglo and white with the interior similar to what you have. The seat material was different, especially the black part which we referred to as "panty cloth". It had a smooth nylon feel and appeared to be very weak regarding wear, etc. Not sure if it was true as Dad was a DeSoto dealer then and never kept a car for any length of time. The seat material changed significantly for 1956 as I recall.

I'm really enjoying my 55 Desoto which runs great and just put some new Coker bias ply tires on it. A couple of the power windows don't work. Anyone know what usually causes failure on this? Switch? That is the next thing I want to tackle..
