Elite Veteran Posts: 769 | Although, black is my first choice for a 61 ply a factory red one would be a very close second. Either way I'm looking forward to the finished car. I will be starting the tear down on mine this spring if it ever stops raining that is!

Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | Does any one here use a MacBook Air and is there a way to resize the photos and post them here ? If there is will some one here please show me ? I got the inside of the trunk and hood lid painted I also have a new hood pad the original 1 could not be saved . I just started working on the engine compartment sanding it and getting ready for paint . My front brakes also locked up on me again so I will be converting to front disc brakes. My previous '61 had front disc brakes and I never had the problem with the brakes locking . My dad is getting the kit for me as a birthday present.

| ||
Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | Yes it will do a lot but its getting there . The car even had to be sand blasted in some parts because of the car cancer. I remember when my dad sanded of the bondo from the quarters down to the metal 1 part is when some one welded a piece of metal over metal that had cancer . I also wet sanded inside the doors I also got to wet sand the fenders. I will do those on my off days . I got to work today and tomorrow Monday and Tuesday are vacation days the next 2 are off days. I will try to upload the photos again Attachments ---------------- trunk with latch.htm (435KB - 298 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | My dad is tearing down the poly 318 . He put a new timing chain and gear set on . He cleaned some gunk out of the engine . When I did my start ups before this I poured some marvel mystery oil in the crank case. He wants me to have the starter checked to see if it is still OK . I purchased gaskets and seals for the car from rock auto when they had a close out sale for parts for my '61 .

Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | I had a pioneer am/fm /CD player on layaway at Walmart. I just picked it up yesterday, It will be installed after the restoration is complete. I am sure some will ask why the reason is I do not want just an AM radio I want to be able to listen to my CDs in the car. I am debating to have it installed in the glove box under the dash or under the seat and turn it on by the factory radio.. I will ask the installer to install the radio and do the wiring of the speakers but I will ask my dad to hook it up for me. It will also go to the tint shop when I get back on the road.

Expert Posts: 2633 Location: Minor Hill, TN | The master Cylinder is installed I am waiting for the brake lines . I know its a little different but I am doing this to make it easier to add brake fluid when needed. I am not sure what I will do with my original's power brake booster but it leaks and I am not sure how bad .
