Subject: What color is block on 59 New Yorker?

The block has blue and gold on it, not sure what I should paint it.

You can paint it any color you like as long as it's black.

Oh wait, that was Henry Ford who said that.

Seriously, to my knowledge, all 1959 New Yorker engines were painted black with the "Golden Lion 413" stickers on the valve covers.

Seriously, to my knowledge, all 1959 New Yorker engines were painted black with the "Golden Lion 413" stickers on the valve covers.

I had a 1959 New Yorker (20 years ago), one of the only things I remember about it is how boring the engine compartment looked with that black painted engine.
