Location: Pacific Northwest | Greetings,
After my little incident on the road back from Arizona I decided it was time to just redo the entire cooling system. I've got the radiator and heater core out to the shop for a hot tank and pressure test. I just installed an NOS Everhot temperature control valve that was on the shelf over at Old Car Parts NW. (gratuitous plug) Once I get the engine flushed out and everything cleaned up under the hood it will be time to reinstall.
Question. What should I use to seal the housing to the firewall? I could use some mastic or dum dum tape or even some foam type weatherstripping I have lying around the shop. What have you done?
Secondly, Is the housing supposed to be black black or just a natural greyish black. Was it painted black or is it just a black tinted fiberglass assembly? I could take the time to prep and paint it I guess, but it doesn't look half bad considering the age of it. Opinions? Thanks, Andrew |

Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | if you go over lightly with fine scotch brite and soapy water , let dry , then 2 light coats of spray can satin clear , it'll look as near to new as possible ---------------------------------------------------later |
