| Hello, all. I'm new to this forum, having recently bought back a 1957 Savoy 2dr hardtop that I sold for prom money 29 years ago. It's a nice car -power brakes and factory ac. But...no power steering. Has anyone found a newer model steering box (such as those offered by ccp) that can be used on these cars? Thx for ideas. |

No...not to my knowledge. Unless you want to retrofit a newer box and column in place. But there are no kits available for that that I have seen. You'd have to build one.
But, if you want to add power steering, you can take a set up from any other 1957 Chrysler car, and it will fit. They all used the same power steering boxes. There were two different pumps used, and of course the brackets would have to match up to the engine type you have in your car, which shouldn't be too difficult to find.
Where are you located at? |

| Thanks, Brad. I'll look into that. I live in Ft.Collins, CO. The car is currently a 318-there is an open pulley groove to drive the pump. |

Location: Netherlands | I've been contemplating a P/S upgrade on my '57 Chrysler, by using an early '60s Mopar chassis rail mounted steeringbox.
It's my believe the boltholes may line up nicely, but haven't actually confirmed this yet.

| Just curious about what you ended up doing! I'm having the same issues with my 57 Dodge!
