Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Location: .Norfolk..Mafia.. ,England UK | Not original to the vehicle from birth, As it is clearly a Dual MC and only functioning as a Single MC, as the front port is only operating the Brake switch, so basically no better than a Single port MC, meaning if you lose a brake line you will have zero brakes, I cannot see the factory sending vehicles out like this, Looks to be a later 60s MC If i was you, i would remove the Brake switch, and pipe it up to run the Dual MC as it was intended,, . | ||

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9874 Location: So. Cal | Yes, they did, in '61-'62 only, I think. I have one in my Lancer wagon. The head is iron though and has the word "special" cast into the top of them to denote mating to the aluminum block. They use wet cylinders. If you take off the heads, you see 6 cylinders sticking up in a basin of coolant. Kinda funny looking. They can't handle much compression because of the way those cylinders mate to the head. I think 8.5:1 is the maximum. | ||
