Location: Hayward, Calif | Hey Guys, Just got all my front suspension parts from Rare Parts, in Stockton, Cal. They also sent me their new parts book, now covering from 1920 - 2011 and they are now carrying shocks. I checked for the 59 Dodge I'm working on and their part # shows 55 - 59. I thought this a little odd that 55 -56, would be same as 57 -59. Anyone else come across this before ? There are no prices in the book, so will have to call for that info. Thanks, Jerry |

If you have a 1959 Factory Parts Book - you will see that every MoPar Division uses the same Part Number of ( 1 inch Diameter ) Shock. These are sold at NAPA Stores or even

Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | On My 56 Chrysler , I used 1970's Corvette front shocks. the bottom mount needs the holes a little bigger with a die grinder. They work very well . the heavier car cancels out the stiff shocks--rides good.................................MO |

Location: So. Cal | You are smart not to believe everything you read. '55-'56 use a different front shock as you can imagine when going from front springs to T-bars. The rear shocks are the same though. |

I never thought about it, but that is right. Bottom shock mount is completely different between coil spring and torsion bars.......................................MO |

Location: N.W. Fla. | you can use a front shocks for later in the 60s by narrowing the mounting tube on the bottom. I did that & used KYB KG4507 on my '60 Plym. |
