Hi Mike,

I have a pair...I haven't used them yet, but they look ok. They aren't perfect, but with a little massaging, they should be good. I can't say the same for their rocker panels. They are a poor "reproduction" and I won't be using them. I bought rockers from the Rocker King. I did buy some floor pans. They are ok to use for patching, if your floor isn't too bad. But don't expect to use them if you need a whole floor replacement.

They are ok only if you don't need the wheel lip opening. Their wheel lip is terrible and completely off. So I would only use them if you just need to patch your long curved panels at the lower ends. Otherwise, if you need the wheel opening, you are going to have to fix your own, or get a good panel from Big M or elsewhere.

Their removable floor panel under the steering column is amazingly descent so they are a good source for that.

I have found that all of the makers of these patch panels have good and bad stuff (and its hard to remember who supplied what)

What I found is that you are better off using the patch panels in sections to minimize how much of it you use

To use the whole panel, most have been wrong and I would have been better off making it myself

classicparts4u makes junk grade floor and trunk pans. I hope the quarters turn out better, but I will never order from them again.

Okay if that's all you got. I have a set I'll sell cheap! Big M provided me with good quality OEM panels from a car in his yard.

I have a 1960s Made Schofield Panel , it fits like a glove when I put it next to my car . But I bought it sight unseen and he said it was a Lower fender repair section for my Desoto . But I thought he meant Front Fender . So here it is for Sale as my quarters are not rusty . The panel had gotten light surface rust so it has now been deoxidined and the sticker is missing . And is now in etch primer . PM me if you are interested in buying it . I am in Australia remember so freight cost me plenty !

Will the maker of these patch panels ship to the US?

Can a page be created in English for all the rest of us that don't speak Swedish?

Pricing.............

Pricing is on his site, but doesn't include shipping of course. 2000 Krona is about $220. I have never seen these for sale before either, but I have heard of an elusive Swedish source. I signed up on the website and emailed him. We'll see if he replies and is able and willing to deal with English.

Hey Guys, I've mentioned this before. I bought a 4' x 10' sheet of 18 ga, found a local fab shop and he made all my inner and outer rockers, plus other stuff for the floor. Ya gotta weld all this back together again anyway, so why not get something worth working with ? Jerry

Some of the pressed shapes and angles are pretty hard to make (not impossible) and thats where I think the patches are good or if you have nothing to build off (no lower quarters for example) so you are not sure where the panel ends

The repair sections I got for the rear quarters on my dodge were actually to long, they were lower sections and the leanth between the end of the wheel arch to the indentations for the bumper was to long by about 1/4"

I just used the wheel lip part to get the reverse curve and used the rest as patch pieces wherever I needed a bit of sheet

Some of the stuff is stamped out of thinner steel, which makes it hard to get a consistent weld going (but the varying thickness of the parent metal from where the rust has been makes it hard as well)

yeah those are quality pieces.

Does anyone know if 4 door quarters map in? I just need them for the lower areas and around the wheels.

I know the 57-58 Plymouth they are different(the body crease tapers off slower).

But the 57-58 dodge 4 door quarter looks perfect for a 2 door patch.

I actually have the "right" schofield patch

A bit late with the answer, but yes, 4dr quarters do work fine for the back end of the quarter. I also used the front dog leg section to get the front edge of the opening done (not shown in this old picture).

One warning though, is that I found out that the '58 sedan fin is a little different than the '57 hardtop fin as it slopes toward the front. I thought they looked identical, but found out they are a little different when I went to weld it in. But as long as you keep your repair on the outside of the fin, you are fine. I'm not sure if the difference was from '57 to '58 or from sedan to hardtop.

I finally was able to purchase repair panels from Lennart in Sweden. I bought 2 full sets for 2 cars, or 8 panels total. With shipping and import duties, they cost me about $260 per panel. Not cheap, but not horrible either. The folds have a beaten look to them, and a few small spots will require a little bit of hammer and dolly work, but overall, they are excellent quality parts just from looking at them. They even have the bend out on the rear inner edge that I wasn't even aware of until I noticed it on these panels. These are gonna save my poor '58 Desoto & '58 New Yorker from falling apart around the seams!

It took me a year because he was too busy in the winter to handle another request, and then he didn't have paypal. So he wanted a wire transfer. I told him I wasn't willing to do that. But finally he got a paypal account and made the parts during the summer, and sent them to me. Once I paid him (as a friend so he didn't receive a fee), he sent the parts right away. So it wasn't like he was sitting on my money. So it should be easier for anyone in the future. But keep in mind that his work load increases during the winter because of all the people wanting to work on their cars at that time. I suspect that he wouldn't take my order when he was busy because he didn't want to make the parts 4 months later and find out that I was no longer interested in buying them.

I fit the panels over a good quarter to see how well they fit. The rear quarter was difficult to determine fully without removing the rear bumper, but as far as I can tell, it looks just about perfect.

I also fit the front panel. If you line up the panel to the door recess, the wheel arch angles down/out a little too far so that at the top of the arch there is about a 3/16" gap with the new panel extending into the wheel area too far.

Likewise, if you align the panel to the wheel arch, the front angles down so that the door pocket no longer lines up. I tried 2 of the 4 front panels I received, and the 2nd one was quite a bit better, but had a similar problem. So this will require cutting and moving the wheel arch in a little bit. Still, I am not unhappy because getting solid metal in this area is near impossible from parts cars and the wheel arch itself is perfect. It just needs to be angled up a little more.

I found out something else too. Dodge panels are not the same as Chrysler panels! There are some significant differences. The wheel arches look to be the same, but the curve as the panel goes under the car is different and the Dodge has a lot more metal and curve in the fold area. A more flat panel could be used to work on both, but heavily contoured panels like these need to be made specifically for the Dodge unless you are willing to cut off most of the folds and redo them.
