Elite Veteran Posts: 782 Location: Edmonton, Alberta | I was able to get out to Smokey Lake again this year. It looked like a horrible morning, there was rain during the evening and the streets were soaked this morning. I was considering not going this year, but had a slow morning, had breakfast, and got ready as if I was still going to the show. The sun poked though the clouds, dried the roads and I decided to go. We reached a high temp of 64 degrees today, so it make for a perfect fall car show. There was a lot of neat stuff there, I saw a lot of folks I know thought car show circled and essentially BSed the entire back day from my lawn chair behind the Fury. I did get a chance to check out a few cars, and I thought I'd post the photos here. As far as I could see, I had the only FL look in attendance. I love rural car shows; the folks at these shows make the show. I'll take a rural car show any time over a car show in the city. To be honest, I don't have a lot of Chrysler pics here. I just have pics of stuff that caught my interest. Of note, there was a really nice old Hudson there, someone brought a Kaiser. I know Doc isn't a huge fan of the '58 Chevrolet, but there was a bottom of the line Biscayne there. It was a survivor car with original paint, except for the left rear door which had been dinged up earlier in the car's life. There was also a really nice '67 Monaco 500 there, sporting it's factory fresh paint job as well. It was amazing to see the Monaco....it have a few nicks and door dings, there were some tiny rust holes in it's front trim, but to see that car original and unrestored in the condition it was in, it brought a big smile to my face. My Dad had a ' 68 Polara 500 HT, and it's the car I came home in when I was born, so any of the big Dodge cars, always peek my interest. Oh.... did I mention...before I left this morning.... I threw a side of pork ribs in my slow cooker. They've been in there about 12 hours now. I'm thinking I'll be digging into those as soon as I'm done this post So... without further ado....here are the pic that are of allowable size or less from the Smokey lake show...... Extreme Veteran Posts: 471 Location: Central Alberta | We had it on the radar, but ended up not going, thanks for posting the pictures, gives us an idea of the show. Looks like a lot of nice cars there, I hear they do get a nice turnout if the weather is nice. That 1967 Dodge looks very nice, I love those taillights, and they drive very very nice! We have a few of those C -bodies, mostly fuselage, and they are just a blast to drive, we took one on a 2500 mile trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota this spring, the way they travel the highways at speed is just heavenly. Thanks again for posting, buddy Marty Edited by NorthernFins 2014-10-05 12:57 PM | ||
