Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Most of those prices do seem quite low, but with most FL fans and drivers averaging at least 50+ these days, realizing they can't take it with them, increasingly facing health issues, and with the fact that most young'uns are not so much into them, imo the high price trend is softening and these kind of prices may be where we're all headed. Same for muscle cars, the trend is down, and if my hunch about the economy is correct, we ain't seen nothing yet. Edited by firedome 2013-12-02 4:36 PM | ||

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Not so much the 'economy', as much as the lack of general interest (in America) in finned cars by anyone under 50 years of age...as you say. "We" are not interested (very much) in the 30's cars ('forget' about the 40's, or pre-30's) so, who is left to own them, except for speculators and museums. Money talks, and it is saying that the auction-market interest in finned cars may be waning. (Virtually, OK?)... anyone under 30 years of age, today, has, and will have, very little interest in our cars once they get (if they ever get, selling hamburgers)....enough money to afford to buy one of them. People ooh and ahh over our cars, but I wouldn't sell mine for less than $40,000.00 (and I know that I'd have some serious seller's remorse at that price, as well)....but, no kiddie can afford that much scratch. The owner of that 58 NY'er vert SOLD it for $48.4K 57 IMP vert: $34K 60 Windsor vert; $26.95K Take a car (and forget about the modified hot-rods...lololol) away from the B-J sharks, and you get these selling prices.
