Location: Sweden | Thought I would take some time making a thread about me and my own car since I find it fun and interesting to read about and look at pics of all nice members rides on here. Some of you might already be familiar with my car through earlier threads on here, but here is my story. I bought the car about six months ago and I am very happy with it. I got the build record with the car. It shows that it was canyon gold with a white top, had sport tone trim, power pack, solex tinted glass, power steering, padded dash and a torqueflite transmission. She is sold new by John Drew motors in Sacramento, CA. The car first resided in San Francisco, i am not sure for how long but after that it moved to Oregon, where it stayed until I bought it. As to this day, I have completed her with bumper wings, BFG Silvertown bias tires and new wheel bearings in the front. I am planning to restore the car doing a little bit per winter as i want do drive the car all of the summer, which I really enjoy! I drive it nearly everyday I will turn the car all to factory specifications except for the bumper wings, those are must-haves for me (nya bilder 342.JPG) (nya bilder 343.JPG) (nya bilder 355.JPG) (nya bilder 369.JPG) (nya bilder 401.JPG) (nya bilder 406.JPG) (nya bilder 425.JPG) (nya bilder 470.JPG) (nya bilder 474.JPG) (IMG_0577.JPG) (IMG_0574.JPG) (IMG_0576.JPG) Attachments ---------------- nya bilder 342.JPG (154KB - 194 downloads) nya bilder 343.JPG (214KB - 204 downloads) nya bilder 355.JPG (285KB - 195 downloads) nya bilder 369.JPG (191KB - 214 downloads) nya bilder 401.JPG (182KB - 202 downloads) nya bilder 406.JPG (145KB - 201 downloads) nya bilder 425.JPG (456KB - 198 downloads) nya bilder 470.JPG (118KB - 202 downloads) nya bilder 474.JPG (82KB - 188 downloads) IMG_0577.JPG (243KB - 204 downloads) IMG_0574.JPG (255KB - 186 downloads) IMG_0576.JPG (247KB - 198 downloads)

And, all Winter to work on it. You should go find some correct mirrors and a fender antenna assembly. Are the floors good? Probably, due to its West Coast service life, huh?

Location: Sweden | Thank you, Neil. As you can see on the last pics, i ditched the 60s mirrors. I will get oem mirrors and antenna for the car. The floor has been repaired, amateur-wise, and will need to be redone to factory specs. But it works for now. The quarters also had some repair of what i can see, but what really made me happy seeing the car when it arrived from the harbour was that the rockers are good and not replaced. Same goes for the doors, , fenders, bonnet and trunk lid. I stated that after doing som detective work on the inner edges, where there are minor scratches that show the oem canyon gold paint. I think the car managed this well from staying in Oregon, but the floors probably rusted due to a leaking top. Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Thought I had some eye-candy for you, but don't have a gold-colored 58 PLY vert in the ad collection. Anyway, here's a couple 57 ads to drool over... Note that the top's boot's color is keyed to the interior motif (rather than to the top, or to the body color). Your car probably came with a white boot, which will look good along with the white top. Location: Sweden | Thanks for uploading the ads, Neil. Those are always amusing to read and admire I like the statement "years ahead of the other two". I think i have searched all of the net for a golden 58 vert, but I have not found a single picture of one. If someone here has a pic, please share it. Would be a nice inspiration. The boot Will be white

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | The CHS may be mistaken, when it calls the stand-alone Option Code 432: "Padded [dash-] Panel and Visors".....as being the "Safety Package". "Packages", and "Accessory Groups" tend to have several or more items within their 'grouping'. Can someone with a 58 PLY options brochure confirm whether the padded dash & visors is supposed to be considered as being a 'package' or a 'group'? This option code is just one of many examples of options and accessories that makes virtually impossible the interpreting of the codes between/among the corporation's various marques (and YEARS). This car was not Special-ordered, but, being a vert, it was shipped out the same day that it was built. Canyon Gold Metallic, and with a white top. Edited by d500neil 2014-06-06 6:09 PM

Member Posts: 21 | Wow!!! You own a true beauty!!! And it seems to be in excelent shape!!! I recently bought a '58, but its a Plaza 4 door 318 poly torqueflite, no power steering, no power brakes, no nothing... I bought it in Nevada and also brought it to Europe (I live in Catalonia), i'd have loved a 2door hardtop or a convertible, these are of course the most desirable models but... as a 21 year old boy I am I couldn't really aford much more, buying the car itself, shipping it here, restoring it, legalizing it here... Thats a tremendous amount of money!!! Anyway, its nice to see there are other persons in Europe who love, bring and take care of this cars here!!! Even you're so far away from Catalonia I'm happy to see there are more proud '58 owners in the continent!! Keep showing us photos, never get tired of looking at this car! Pau
