Veteran Posts: 136 Location: Cincinnati | Guessing the GC 361 is gone..wonder about the color...love the dash and great seats...just wish it was a hardtop! This was the first wagon to go finless and talk about forwardlook this could almost pass for a 64 Dodge Custom 880 very little change. Edited by ExWagonista 2013-07-06 9:57 AM

Expert Posts: 1490 Location: Florida | I think I've seen someone here make a hardtop wagon from a 'pillared' wagon by using a set of hardtop doors from a 1962 Chrysler or '62-'64 Dodge 880 hardtop wagon??!

Yes for there was a 60 pillarless Matador converted to look a like a Polara..not sure where it went. Same body across all wagons 60-61. Then Plymouth offered only the intermediate wagon 62-64 for the duration of the hardtop run. Here is a converted 60 Plymouth.. http://blogs.hotrod.com/1961-plymouth-savoy-wagon-sneak-peak-292.ht...

Expert Posts: 2905 Location: little rock, AR | That is not the maize color thats on my '61 2dr HT. Probably a repaint or bad pics. I'm sure they didn't post a front view because the NOS head lights rings would have distracted the viewer. Edited by oldwood 2013-07-07 9:01 AM

Expert Posts: 1480 Location: Australia | I have decoded this cars VIN, but not the data plate... I got excited when I first saw the car before examining the photos in more detail and noticing that it has been repainted over white... Someone obviously wished it was maize! I told the young owner to put it on Ebay to reach a greater market, as it is worth more than the $500 he had it listed for... Thanks Adriana Edited by suburban61 2013-07-08 8:55 AM (sub.jpg) Attachments ---------------- sub.jpg (39KB - 69 downloads)

Veteran Posts: 136 Location: Cincinnati | Adriana..has the subject matter expert how many 61 GC wagons are still out there? Too bad the original engine is not in the car and white though nice is not a FL fab color. I was imagining with the red/black interior or more dynamic color combo..that said my parents 59 Dodge Custom Sierra Wagon was the same combination. I laugh when I think of it the back quarter panels rusted out in 2 years and the car was traded in on a new 61 Polara wagon white over blue. In those days both my Mom and Dad had wagons with 5 kids going everywhere and trips to our cottage in northern Michigan. My Mom's car was a 60 light blue/blue Matador ordered early summer in 59 when her 55 Sierra blew and engine. Being a first production model it had the 60 spinners for extra bling which my Dad didn't like and thought were too showy..and so began my passion with all things 60 Dodge wagons..loved that ride. Because the 55 engine blew my Dad thought it was underpowered so he always upgraded the engines in those day so the car came with the 383 4b.

Expert Posts: 1480 Location: Australia | Nah, I am not an expert... I have come across three Golden Commando suburbans... This one (I was under the belief that the original engine was there, but was missing a couple of things) There was a robin eggs blue Sports Suburban stick shift all original for sale in Cheyenne when I was in America in 2011 $14,999... And there was a sports suburban with a pizza hut sign on the roof which sold for something like $874 about 5-6 years ago now on Ebay (I have not seen it since)... That is all I know of...
