Good timing...

John, I shipped you an air cleaner on Monday. You should have it one day next week.

Thanks again!

Help for a newbie please!!!

Anyone know where I can get the cleaners for the 1958 ovals? I need two for my brand new gold cans so we can run in my rebuilt motor.

I emailed Gary Goers a while back and got no reply at all.

i have found a manufacturer in Turkey who is contracted to caterpillar and makes a compatible filter to the same pattern. I am hoping their english is good so i can try to buy a trade quantity of these filters to make available to club members...it all depends on how good his english is, because I can't speak Turkish!!

How much demand is there likely to be for these items if i could get a bulk quantity??

How feasible is it to buy the taller filters and cut them down to fit into the 1958 style canisters??

I have thought the same thing, but never tried it. Sounds like you should pioneer this idea. Let us know if it works!

The illustrated air filters won't win you any car show awards, because they are obviously new/aftermarket items.

The OEM guys have 'chicken-wire' square pattern wire closures on it.

If you are going after-market, here is the K & N air filters; pricey, but cleanable and reusable.

Air filters are considered "consumables", but thanks for your input!
Feel free to spend stupid money on your OEM/NOS air filters.
I posted this here for the people who are looking for an inexspensive alternative, not for the pricey OEM 'chicken-wire' chicken footed d-bags...
