Highly optionned car! AC (though missing the underdash unit), Power windows, etc...

Scotti has this car listed as a "project car", though. I can imagine why looking at the extensively "remodeled" rear passenger quarter wheel surround and the shallow seam between the front fenders and the rocker panels. Bondo?

Still a very pretty car!

The car has A/C Soiouz, thats the real deal factory A/C box in the firewall, that duct underneath the Heater controls is the factory one for A/C cars, and it also has the heating/cooling switch. Unusual for a convertible to have that option.

Interesting to have a car optioned with power windows, and factory A/C and what looks to be rubber mat instead of carpet.

Thanks for the info, I thought it looked aftermarket and that the OEM unit was larger and had a whitish plastic grille..

As for the rubber mat, wasn't that the OEM mat for a convertible?

The rubber mat was OEM, but, I'll bet that carpeting was optional equipment.

They're saying that this red vert not only has power windows, but A/C, too....and yet, it has (only) the standard
rubber floor covering in it.

A standard, non-power, seat, too....

According to the Parts Book, that A/C radiator would either be #1686 199 (thru engine #LP2-98023)
or # 1832 496 (after engine # LP2-98023).

Are the arm rests installed backwards?

I e-mailed them and here's what they replied:

"We are asking $42,900.00 for the 1958 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible, it runs and drives very well, new top and interior, new chrome and tires.

The body and paint job are not the best, that’s why we call it a project. It is a good value at this price because they are very hard to find factory A/C, 318ci, 4 barrel dual exhaust, power steering and power brakes, power windows and power top"

Nice looking car though the body looks to be in rough shape underneath. Seat pattern is correct dogbone material. Factory A/C parts look to be all there. Very rare in a convertible. Makes me want to go out and work some more on mine, tomorrow I will. Such a beautiful car.

Neil, that's how the armrests in my twin-to-this convertible are, but I've seen them both ways.

Two different radiators because earlier built 58s had air cooled torque convertors, later ones used cooler lines. I have heard A/C radiators have the upper hose to the right side, not center.

Matt, I checked the 55-58 Parts Book, and thought that I'd see relatively few radiators, which had shared applications
among the various models (which would appear to make perfect sense....), but, instead, there are a myriad different
radiators listed, with very few common applications.

I had believed that "all" of the A/C cars had the HD radiator, with the far-offset upper hose installation.

But, for the 58 PLY's there is one radiator shown for the NON-A/C 58Fury(and D500): 1754 452; which is center-hose, and
another Heavy Duty ("High Capacity") radiator for the LP-2 (all models) : 1754 454----(probably-certainly offset upper hose)---
but this model radiator is not shared with any other of the 57-58 MoPars.

I'll run it by them. May not have a plate on the car with that information though.

With the exception of the steering wheel, the interior looks real good on this. Too bad whoever restored the car didn't do a better job on the passenger quarter. Extensive welding or full quarter replacement needed to make it right. Then it'll be difficult to match the paint, as red is a hard color to match.

What are those two ports on the driver's valve cover ? Never seen that before.

For factory air, for the HVAC door inside.

The rear interior quarter panels aren't right but the seats look good. I talked to the prior owner of this car last year. I was told he had NOS convt quarters but he said he didn't.
