Was a new casting made for each day (sure...); so, how were the screws and the plate incorporated into the actual
casting mold??????....if a new/different casting wasn't made, each day?

A new casting was made for every block. The mould is a timber engine block.
The plate is screwed to the outside of the timber mould and then tightly packed into dry sand. |
