Expert Posts: 1490 Location: Lordstown, Ohio | Well its not exactly a convertible, but,....It will suffice til One comes up. My dream car along with everyone else's is a Desoto convertible. I sold my 60 Fury convertible, which is leaving my house to someplace in MN to be restored then shipped to Australlia. I was torn over the fact that it sold, but its not the car that holds my likings. The 61 Plymouth convertibles to me are awesome. So this came along and could not pass on it. There is 0, zero, zip rust out in it. Whats left of the original paint is still there. A great start. Location: Parts Unknown | While driving topless is an experience like no other, that roofline you got there is second to none and I would say I actually prefer the 2HT to a ragtop on the 61 Plymouth.

Elite Veteran Posts: 957 Location: Signal Mountain, TN | I LOVE the roofline on these 2dr cars. That combined with the body lines on these, always kinda liked them. Nice to hear on the no rust factor, too. Not a vert like you wanted, but a pretty sweet ride all the same.

Expert Posts: 1508 Location: new york | Nice find! 61's are so funky and cool!!!! Thanks to the boys in detroit for being brave enough to sell this design, I had a white 61 and it was quite a solid well built car! Much better put together than the 57-59's. Enjoy it and good luck! HAPPY MOTORING! Victor..

I said I would like to have a convertible, not make this into one. Therefore I choose this car for now, until a convertible pops up. Wayne

What a friggin bargain; if I could only find a 62 Polara 500 vert for this kind of money....

Extreme Veteran Posts: 508 Location: Orlando | Am I the only one who thinks the front clip of these cars don't seem to match the rest of the car? I think the rest of the car (especially the roofline) is great, but the front end treatment is another story...

Location: Parts Unknown | I find the Plymouth design to be slipping away after 58. 60 was better than 59, but still a little blunt up front compared to those lithe fins. 61 was cool, but just from a whole new school of design than those that came before. Look at what Ford and GM were doing in 61. It was a whole new game.

Expert Posts: 2635 Location: Minor Hill, TN | Good luck with restoring the car. It took a year and a half to have mine done. Mine still has the original headliner and the dash has never been repainted. The 1 I have was well taken care of. Mine has a 318 and pushbutton auto . I enjoy driving mine. In the near future I plan to get the windows tinted in mine and add a CD player to it. I will keep the factory radio in the dash but mount the CD player under the dash. I have taken it to cruise ins and a couple of carshows. It will also be in a movie called Hell and Mr Fudge. There will be a scene were the car is driven I will be driving the car in this scene. I am also in the movie cast as an extra. The movie was filmed in and around Athens, Al

Expert Posts: 2635 Location: Minor Hill, TN | Mine also got attention at car shows and cruise ins. Since the current 1 is being restored the '68 charger is subbing for it.
