It has a Hemi and looks like there are cross flag emblems on the front fenders?

http://wheeling.craigslist.org/cto/1741597983.html

I am the second owner of this car. I have most of the repair slips from the dealer since it was new. It has a 325 hemi, auto trans with the push shift on the dash. Power steering, power brakes, power windows and seats. 4 door hardtop. The paint is two tone gold and white and is in really good shape. The body is in great shape with no rust threw. Everything on the car works BUT the radio which could be fixed. 14 inch bias ply tires that are like new with the org. wheel covers. I got this car in Clevenland Oh. Drove it to Dover Oh. stayed over night and finished the trip to Moundsville, W.V. with no problems at all. It is a great old car. You can email questions at danny.jacobs@comcast.net or call me at 304-845-8461 and leave a message.

$7.5K? Bargain...

The crossed-flags are an owner add-on...wonder when added, though?

Power windows AND seat----KOOL!

If I didn't have mine, THIS D500 would be SOLD, already.

This is a car (price) to LOSE some sleep, over.

Just wrote to the seller to try to get more pics of this car.

Here is the SELLERS Response and some PICs,, I had to Enlarge them as they were Tiny,, So may have Not be the Best..

..........................

Someone ask to send more pictures to you. Here they are. I also saw someone posted about the flags on the fenders? I think they are org. I didn't add them and I am the second owner
The first and only other owner was a Mrs. Deioddario of Bellerue Washington. I have service records dated 9-27-57 thru 8-9-04. I doubt she had they added. But who knows.

Thanks,
Danny Jacobs

Vinyl/beading and upholstery should be available across-the-counter at SMS.

Any questions about "painted/colored" wheel rims, on the 57-58 Dodges?

Yeah, the car will need some 'work, but this is the FUN work, where you can presentably drive it, while you detail/restore it.

The sun visors might be a pleasant 'surprise', too--looks like at least one of them is the tinted plastic type.

Ahhh, that fuel line re-do is a bit of a concern; the OEM filter is a no-brainer to clean out; the filter's glass bowl might
have gotten broken; dunno why/how it would need to be replaced, unless the car had dead-sat for a long time, but
the carb looks to be un-touched; oh, well; that's why Big M is here, to sell us good useable parts, like OEM fuel lines
and fuel filter systems.

Just noticed that the car has 1956-type horns on it, which briefly gave me a cheap thrill about maybe those 56-looking
'flags' might just be some sort of weird very-early-model production screw-up, but, then, noticed that the car has the
NOV-ish installation of the 'crowned' fender connectors, so, this car is not of very-early production; still, don't have a
clue about how/why the 56 horns are installed on it---left-over stock, maybe ( "AH, just get those things OUT of here;
go put em on the next car 'down' the line!")...

I listed this car on here before. Got some replys but no takers. I am the second owner of this car. The org. owner was a lady from Bellevue, Washington I have all of the service records for this car from Nov. 29,1957. ( a bumper jack was replaced because it didn't work inwhich the labor cost was $1.75 ) untill July, 14 2004. I think at that time she was getting to old to drive it. The dealer was Eastside Chrysler, Jeep in Bellevue. Most of the service bills were made out to Mrs. Addario. some to Grace and to what must have been her husband Tom. at 91784 miles the motor was overhauled. ( Remove engine, boil block and bore 30 over. new cam and bearing, grind crank, plus all other normal parts. The labor was $180. , parts $354.40, $7.80 for gas,oil and grease, sublet work was $64.50, tax $26.90 bring the total to $624.60. ( You can hardly get a service check for that these days.) I wouldn't be afaid the bet that I have all the service records for this car.
All of the service seamed to be done at this dealer, includind the tires. I even have the org. owners manual. As for the horns, I doubt this lady had them changed and the same goes for the side marker flags, and no on the sun visers but the windshield is tinted green at the top. But you NEVER know. As far as I know this car is sold. It is to be picked up on Sunday and it does stay in the good ole US of A! I have a 65 Mustang fastback, 66 vette conv. and 69 VW. My wife said I can't have all em all. WOMEN GO FIGURE. Anyway I just thought I would post this about this fine car.
Thank for all the interest.

Thanks, Danny!

Please inform whomever is lucky enough to buy your car that they should 'join' this website.

The fender flags are not OEM, but, maybe the dealer had them be installed, to promote this early-built D500 !

If you're still 'here', Danny, could you please post up a close up image of those flags, and maybe a view of your car's
Paint/Trim data plate?

ALSO, since the car is still original, you might (CAREFULLY) reach/check up-behind the glove box, to see if the
car's Broadcast Sheet is still masking-taped there?

If so, you might post an image of it, (or PM me) to preserve its appearance, for posterity/future research-info purposes.

Thanks!

WOW what a great car, looks good, nice color scheme, and has the best of all options - D-500, power windows, seat and it's a 4 door hardtop to boot! I think I'd rather have one of these than a 2 door HT, given the rarity of them and they do look good as a 4 door HT.

..AND, they are user-friendly (as long as you don't slam the doors, and don't drive them thru salty water...
and keep all the door fitments-and-trim tightly adjusted).

Their body and interior structure is fragile; there's good reasons why 4-dr HT's are rare survivors.

Still, this is a wonderful car for a diligent conscientious owner.

OK folks, I bought this car back in 2010 and am now just starting the restoration. Actually, the interior and some chrome is already done. So, before I finish the body work I need some input on these dang flag emblems found on the fenders!!!!
This car had only two owners. The first had it until 2008. I doubt the first owner put these on. The second owner Danny confirms he did not do it and thinks they are original...maybe from the dealer. Do I remove them or keep them on the fenders?
I am doing a color change from Gold/White to Gold/Black on the car.

Search 1956 D500. I believe if they have a 500 below the flags; they are from 1956. If not look up 1955-7 Thunderbirds. Marc.

Yes, I know they are 56 Dodge flags. But for some reason they are on this 57 and it appears to be original.

Flags are 100% not original on this 1957... but they do look like 1956 D500 emblems, though!

If it were my car, I would remove them, but sell them on eBay. For a 1956 owner, they might be owrth some good $$$.

Really nice car, by the way! Glad it's getting a restoration!

Here's a couple of 56 Dodge D500 with those flags:

A lot of people added these type of flags back in the day. They were available at the dealer and at auto parts stores, a fun way to dress up you car. Pretty cool I would leave them on but, it depends on how original you are trying to be with your restoration. Good luck! and great looking car!

That, and "If those flags are in good shape, I know somebody who would be interested in buying them".
