Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Not being versed in 57 Adventurers, was the rear view mirror OEM painted in that 'metallic-mauve' color? This is not necessarily a big deal, if the car is not ever driven at nite, but that mirror is the standard non-day/nite guy, which is a PIT-eyes to endure, with following cars' headlights pouring directly into that low mounted mirror. One of the first upgrades I made to my car was replacing that mirror with a day/nite one. Edited by d500neil 2012-12-11 3:06 PM

Raffaele, i think the mirror and base, speaker grill, vents and push button surround, should be flat Brown colour, to match the vynil on dash, also the trims around the lower windshield as well and i think those have a textured finish, just going what ive seen of unrestored cars? Elite Veteran Posts: 734 Location: Torino - Italy | roadkillontheweb - 2012-12-10 2:07 PM The cluster was original to the car so those miles should be accurate. The car was off the road by the early 60s so that would be about right for annual mileage also. Things are looking great! Have you tried to call Marilyn yet? Lee , im waiting my friend that speak english better .. i will let you know

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: New Castle PA | Raffaelle, I'll ask a few friends about the parts you need. Everything you're doing looks WONDERFUL. I'm not sure about the BACK of the mirror being brown, but certainly I wouldn't change it now, and without my cars in front of me, I can't say for sure -- maybe brown is right, but I think it was unpainted. Looks great, though!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1141 Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Raffaele, in Wayne`s book it lists the Windsheild garnish, radio speaker grill (front and rear) rear window defogger grilles, ac/defroster ducts, dash pad retainer strip above radio? to be Charcoal like dash vinyl with a wrinkle finish, i think the steering column, and joining pieces would be spice Brown Mettalic, and everything else done in the charcoal brown, same as dash vynil, with a satin finish? that is probably why your parts looked grey and had faded with sun? Expert Posts: 1357 Location: Iowa USA | Just to give you a little update. I called Marlyn the other day because I had to go to her town for work. She had been sick and in the hospital a couple times so she could not see me but is working on getting the photos from her daughter. She said someone called with a strange name and heavy accent so I figured t was you or your friend that speaks English better but she said she had not heard from you yet but is looking forward to it. I will let you know if I hear anything more on my end.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1141 Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Raffaele, there is a carboard lined with a layer about 1 inch thick of stone wool(rock wool), this also has a rubber strip sewn onto bottom to lip the carpet under, you will have to remove all the parts you have fitted as this goes on first, i think you can get them reproduction now?if not its going to be out of a parts car but the rubber is oftern perished and crumbles, you could use carpet underfelt if you dont want to use the stone wool(rock wool) Paul.
