Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | Well, ANY HELP ANYBODY WANTS TO GIVE - FEEL FREE ! ! ! ! I may have a lead on the subframe with the big block mounting "pads" I have nothing as far as getting a bellhousing . . . Also, anybody out there want to buy my Pioneer ? It's an actual D500 car (361 4bbl) NO MOTOR and it seems to have its share of body work - I have two great front fenders for it. PM me if you want more details. Elite Veteran Posts: 708 Location: Fredrikstad, Norway. (Europe) | These motor mount "pads" are not to hard to make B/G 61. And they are the same on all '60-'61 and some '62 MOPAR uni-body semi-frame models. Especially the "bolt on" frames. I have made several of them. Some for myself, and some for friends. I sure like the Pioneer tho'. Good Luck. Einar.

What do you know about its history?

Location: Parts Unknown | I never found anyting but the crossram cars to carry those D-500 emblems with the stylized "star", although technically, anything from a 361 4bbl was considered a "D-500". How did one know this outside of old literature ?

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | d500neil - 2009-11-09 1:18 AM Yikey, does your Pioneer have the 61 D500 emblem on it, and/or do you have its Broadcast Sheet or IBM card copy from the Historical Society? What do you know about its history? No and Yes, Yes and NOTHING . . . When I first got the car, I thought that it was an original 383 4bbl car, of which it would be extreamly rare (like 1 of less than 5 or somethin) I just like Doc, I was under the impression only the "Ram" cars had the emblem - I still think this. The car I have (for sale; Pioneer) did NOT have a D500 emblem on it. There was and is evidence of body-work throghout the car but NO signs of the holes patched for the emblem. I have an emblem (D500) on there now that I picked up a few years ago - I have the info from the Historical Society that shows this car IS A D500, 361 4bbl car (from the factory) - The emblem will go with the car and I will let the new owner decide if it will stay on the car or not - One could always sell it and put the $600 or so towards sheet metal. I will post more pics later of the fenders I have that go with the car. I also posted this in "cars for sale" here

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Funny you should mention "$600.00", as that is what a List member, here, --ok: $610.00---paid for a 61 D500 emblem very recently, unless he bought it for you. So, $600.00 IS a very fair figure/price for a NOS 61 D500 emblem!

Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Brent, the 361/4-bbl information is available in the historical, and factory, literature; but, that info is what THIS website's existence is all about. Interesting theory, about only the Rammies having D500 emblems on them....that's a problem that results from having only a very limited 'population' to survey. Automotive anthropology!

They're more difficult to find, than even the large block-off plate that you now appear to have. 'You' can see part of them, in the 'Stripper Windsor' thread, on this message board. Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | O.K. - Workin on this heater delete plate is fun, but I'd like to be DRIVING this stupid thing ANYWAY, I used Por-15 on the back because of the mass amounts of rust there. Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | O.K. - The fire-wall block off plate came out decent - I do not have the small round plate to block off the blower motor so if anyone wants to give me one I'll take it That actually brings up the question of was there a diff blower motor or diff location for it in a heater delete car ? Well in some forms, those battery trays can be made of special super dooper polymer and double polished certain grade of stainless steel . with a acid proof non leak top and vented into a container to not rust up the factory overspray. But bottom line is, it functions as a battery hold down tray. ................MO

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | Can I make a bracket that the springs mount to that has three holes to locate the front of the springs and use bigger shackles (also with three holes) in the back ? Is that gonna cause a problem with the driveshaft and/or rear end and/or anything else (as I "adjust" between the three) ???
