Location: Parts Unknown | The blurred car in the far background has that same paint scheme .... taxicab company colors ? Also note on the black 58 Dodge convertible above .... while the car appears to have no other Spring Special trim visible, it wears the largest red grille badge I have ever seen ! Really good to see another example of the Taxi company painting, to eliminate speculation regarding any custom-car painting on that 57/58 PLY (taxi, as it turns out).... Anyone recognize the 'year' of its dog-dish wheel cover, or its nameplate? Ohhhh; 57 tail light; that's a clue! Edited by d500neil 2014-09-30 4:06 PM | ||

58 DESOTOS RULE |
| ||
Expert Posts: 2308 Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | This could be an export model badged as a De Soto as the spear sweeps down like the one used on the 1957 De Soto. It has an otherwise normal rear end that resembles the 1957 Plymouth and a front end that is pure Dodge. I find the US Navy crew cab Dodge truck rather more interesting. Too bad there is no indication as to where and when this shot was taken? The Dodge truck is certainly a 1966 or 67 model so it would have been taklen sometime in the late 60s.
