Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | At this point, I have no clue about the 1955 Dodge trim codes. However, based on the recent publication of a copy of the 1955 Dodge dealer showroom album, we now have photos of the basic 1955 Dodge trim options. Unfortunately, no corresponding trim numbers (??). SO if you have a 1955 Dodge and want to add to archive of 1955 Dodge info, post up a photo of your interior and the cowl tag (or IBM) card with the trim code and I will annotate the fabric photos from the showroom album with the Trim numbers that correspond to the fabrics/vinyl. Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . One data point: Hondaman1974 (Tony C) says that his 55 Custom Royal Sedan with a 434 Trim code on his IBM card says that these are correct for his car (so that is the middle of the top row left side in the book images above): I know frwl (Igor) has suggested that a Jewell Black car would not come with a blue-based interior based on factory info but there we have it - Blue. (OR NOT: SEE BELOW - Tony changes his mind - GREEN!!) REFERENCE: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=70912&... Edited by 56D500boy 2020-10-08 9:54 PM

Veteran Posts: 211 Location: Northern Illinois | dave, i was wrong in saying my interior was blue, after much debate with my wife she tells me its green, (im severely color blind lol) the pictures you posted looked like mine. so the correct color for code 434 is dark green with light green bolsters. i attached some pictures of my door panel and front seat Edited by hondaman1974 2020-10-08 9:00 PM

I did some more research this afternoon and decided that frwl (Igor) was correct and that you might just be colour blind. I was just going to email you to ask again about the colour (blue or green) and there you are, you posted "Green". Except I don't see your attached photos (yet) ??? Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | See below: Codes are based on Mike Petersen's research, as documented in his book "1955 Dodge - by the numbers" NOTE: IF I've made any errors, please flag them up and I will see if I can correct the issue. Mike Petersen says the following about the fabrics and vinyls, etc: 1. Custom Royal Sedans and Hardtops: Fabric is Jacquard, Silver Dotted, Diamond Weave. Bolsters are Ribbed Cordagrain (vinyl) 2. Custom Royal Convertibles: Printed Cordagrain with ribbed Cordagrain Bolsters 3. Royal Sedan and Lancer: Jacquard "Random" Dash weave fabric with Cordagrain bolsters (no mention of ribbed) 4. Royal Sierra (wagon): Printed colour Cordagrain with Cordagrain Bolsters (again, no mention of ribbed) 5. Coronet Sedan and Lancer: Two colour Jacquard "T" Weave fabric with Cordagrain Bolsters (no mention of ribbed) 6. Coronet Suburban and Sierra: Coloured Ribbed Cordagrain with Cordagrain Bolsters (presumably not ribbed) Edited by 56D500boy 2020-10-09 1:11 PM (55DodgeCustomRoyalTrimFabrics_small.jpg) (55DodgeRoyalAndCoronetTrimFabrics_small.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 55DodgeCustomRoyalTrimFabrics_small.jpg (207KB - 233 downloads) 55DodgeRoyalAndCoronetTrimFabrics_small.jpg (243KB - 222 downloads)

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . I trust that somebody with a 55 Dodge will post up some photos of their interior trim (if OE). I don't want to be the only contributor. In the meantime, I had some photos archived. One with the "plaid" Coronet interior bothers me. It looks OE but probably isn't (unless it is that "Rumoured" Robbie Burns addition) (55Coronet2drLancerBlueAndBlackTWeave_429_Seats.jpg) (55Coronet2drLancerBlueAndBlackTWeave_429_door.jpg) (55DodgeCustomRoyal4drSedan434TrimCode_1.jpg) (55DodgeCustomRoyal4drSedan434TrimCode_2.jpg) (55DodgeCoronet2drSedanBluePlaid_Front.jpg) (55Coronet2drSedanBluePlaid_Rear.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 55Coronet2drLancerBlueAndBlackTWeave_429_Seats.jpg (183KB - 250 downloads) 55Coronet2drLancerBlueAndBlackTWeave_429_door.jpg (145KB - 243 downloads) 55DodgeCustomRoyal4drSedan434TrimCode_1.jpg (62KB - 242 downloads) 55DodgeCustomRoyal4drSedan434TrimCode_2.jpg (77KB - 252 downloads) 55DodgeCoronet2drSedanBluePlaid_Front.jpg (124KB - 227 downloads) 55Coronet2drSedanBluePlaid_Rear.jpg (126KB - 229 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2013 | . Great article, Dave! I just noticed this thread! Here one example: Dodge Royal Lancer Hardtop Coupe (Body Code 226) Black Jacquard Random Weave Fabric and White Cordagrain Bolsters (Code 430) You forgot the La Femme trim code… May have it code 439? What Mike Petersen Book talking about that? (1.jpg) (2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 1.jpg (50KB - 222 downloads) 2.jpg (43KB - 219 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2013 | . Correction: the trim code 439 is green Coronet standard trim; the last number in your listing is 440; So La Femme trim code might be a 441...

Expert Posts: 2013 | . Dave: Royal V8 Sierra and Coronet Suburban have same trim code 730 Is it misprint? Royal V8 4-Door and Lancer: Sedan and Lancer have same black trim but different trim code, like Custom Royal… Is it misprinting too?

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | frwl - 2020-10-19 4:05 AM. Correction: the trim code 439 is green Coronet standard trim; the last number in your listing is 440; So La Femme trim code might be a 441... Mike Petersen lists the 1955 Coronet Sedan and Lancer codes together, without specifying which one is sedan and which one is Lancer, i.e. Yellow 426/428, Blue 427/429 and Green 439/440. I didn't list the La Femme code because I didn't have an image of the La Femme interior to label. Mike Petersen lists the 1955 La Femme trim code as 443 with the Heather Rose (roof and upper) and Sapphire White (lower) as Paint Code 571-1. frwl - 2020-10-19 4:31 AM. Dave: Royal V8 Sierra and Coronet Suburban have same trim code 730 Is it misprint? Royal V8 4-Door and Lancer: Sedan and Lancer have same black trim but different trim code, like Custom Royal… Is it misprinting too? Okay. Thanks for pointing out my error on the Coronet Suburban green vinyl trim code. I had written 727 down on a copy of the pages of the 1955 Dodge dealer book (different than Mike P's stuff) but some how I typed 730 when I was labeling the image. I will correct that this AM. Mike Petersen lists the 1955 Dodge Royal codes as: Royal Sedan and Lancer: BLACK: Black Jacquard "Random" Dash Weave Fabric with White Cordagrain Bolsters - 430 Sedan and Lancer; 442 Sedan only. (My Comment: Perhaps the "430" for the sedan referred to a 2 dr post Sedan which would have the same front and rear seats as the 2 dr hardtop (postless) Lancer.) GREEN: Dark Green Jacquard "Random" Dash Weave Fabric with Light Green Cordagrain Bolsters = 431 (no mention of sedan or Lancer) BLUE: Dark Blue Jacquard "Random" Dash Weave Fabric with Light Blue Cordagrain Bolsters = 432 (no mention of sedan or Lancer) Here is the corrected version: Edited by 56D500boy 2020-10-19 12:39 PM (55DodgeRoyalAndCoronetTrimFabrics_small_correctedCoronetSuburbanGreenCodeTo727.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 55DodgeRoyalAndCoronetTrimFabrics_small_correctedCoronetSuburbanGreenCodeTo727.jpg (241KB - 214 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2013 | . Thanks for comments, Dave. First: Your told above: My Comment: Perhaps the "430" for the sedan referred to a 2 dr post Sedan which would have the same front and rear seats as the 2 dr hardtop (postless) Lancer. But there is no 2 Door post Sedan in Royal series; only Coronet has 2 Door post Sedan. Second: It remains to find out which series «owns» trim code 441… Third: I guess SP column on the 1955 Dodge cowl tag means paint scheme: SP1 = Two Tone Combination SP2 = Three Tone Combination with Sapphire White Painted Roof SP3 = Three Tone Combination with Jewell Black Painted Roof SP4 = Three Tone Combination with Cameo Red Painted Roof You may check it in your archive. It is regarding for 1955 Dodges only and does not fit for 1956 models… What do you think?

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10175 Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Yesterday I said "I didn't list the La Femme code because I didn't have an image of the La Femme interior to label. Mike Petersen lists the 1955 La Femme trim code as 443 with the Heather Rose (roof and upper) and Sapphire White (lower) as Paint Code 571-1." So that meant that I had to find some examples of the 443 1955 La Femme Trim Code. These are the best of what I could find: Edited by 56D500boy 2020-10-20 12:43 PM (1955LaFemmeBrochure_1.jpg) (1955_Dodge_La_Femme_2_Door_Hardtop_Based_on_Custom_Royal_Lancer_Interior_sv_Heather_Rose_Sapphire_White__WPC_Museum__CL.jpg) (1955dodgelafemmeInterior.jpg) (955-dodge-custom-royal-lancer-la-femme-RearSeat.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 1955LaFemmeBrochure_1.jpg (92KB - 229 downloads) 1955_Dodge_La_Femme_2_Door_Hardtop_Based_on_Custom_Royal_Lancer_Interior_sv_Heather_Rose_Sapphire_White__WPC_Museum__CL.jpg (33KB - 213 downloads) 1955dodgelafemmeInterior.jpg (121KB - 249 downloads) 955-dodge-custom-royal-lancer-la-femme-RearSeat.jpg (110KB - 222 downloads)
