Location: Indiana | i currently insure my classics through American Collectors Insurance...
but their cutoff for what is a "classic/collectible" is defined as being 25 years old...
i'm looking to insure a '91 Stealth R/T but want to insure as a "classic/collectible" instead of a multi-car "normal" policy...
who do you guys insure through and would they insure a '91 Stealth R/T as a "classic/collectibe"?
ie, my classics only cost $140 per year for insurance but my current daily-driver policy is wanting $430 per year to add a '91 Stealth R/T... |

Location: Under the X in Texas | I don't have a "neo-classic" like you describe but I do know that Haggerty considers numerous newer cars along these lines as qualifying under collector policies. Suggest you call Haggerty. Should only take a moment to find out.

| Last time I checked Haggarty will insure it, I have a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT Vr4...

Location: Indiana | my agent is telling me that American Collectors Insurance will insure it as a classic/collectible "only if it is show quality, please send pics and estimated value"...
which won't fit in this case, i found one very well maintained, all original minus some minor wear-and-tear fixes, and not "butchered" by 'Fast and Furious' wannabees...
but she also says that she don't know two years down the road (when the '91 hits 25yrs old)...
technically i'm on the lookout for a '91 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD but a '91 Stealth R/T (non-turbo) is a fair compromise and most classify it as a higher quality car anyway...
*EVERY* Eagle Talon that i've been able to find *has* been BUTCHERED under the hood by rice-racer "kids" with no long-term "respect" for an automobile... |

Location: Indiana | yes, that is "insane", lol
i don't plan on putting a lot of money into this '91 Stealth R/T
it's a short-term project, not a long-term project
and should serve rather nicely as a trade a year or two down the road for a same-era Talon/Eclipse/Laser or a, dare i say, mid-80s Charger, or a motorcycle project (NO HARLEYS!) |
