Over the course of several years, Chrysler made available an optional gasoline-fueled "Instant" heater made by Stewart-Warner, i.e. the Model 800 Instant Heat Conditionaire heater. I am sure there were issues with this system. One that I didn't know about was air bubbles in the fuel feed. Factory Service Bulletin No. 954-CH, Feb. 23, 1956, was intended to deal with that issue (see below, in pink)

Procedure sounds dangerous. Lol. Bulletins are great resources.

Old post but to that I have this stupid pain of heater. The FSM does not show anything about what the fuel line goes to in the heater box. What nozzle or what ever no idea. And as to what turns the fuel on and off is a do what. The fuel pump is ran by the blower by the radiator. That turns on fuel is pumping. I got my control box working as it should but I can say I will not turn the heater on while engine running until I ever figure out what the fuel line goes to.

These diagrams from the 1956 Chrysler Factory Service Manual (available as a pdf at MyMopar) might help you (??):
