Expert 5K+ Posts: 9880 Location: So. Cal | This car seems familiar....Is this owned by a member here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/332027760949?ul_noapp=true A true classic. A time capsule from 1957 that turns heads wherever you go. Take the whole family with you to the car show or drive-in. It has that classy look and that unmistakable rumble from a real, 392 hemi engine and dual exhaust. Don't miss a rare opportunity to own this one of a kind, rust-free New Yorker. 51k original miles. 392 Hemi. Push button transmission. Fender tag. Clean title. This car is solid as a rock, top to bottom, no rust. It starts, idles, runs and moves very well but needs some brake work to drive reliably. Some extra parts come with it. Email or call. Call only between noon and 9pm please. Professional delivery available at a reasonable cost. Call or email to discuss. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9880 Location: So. Cal | They are reproduced. The company that makes the new valve covers makes them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrysler-Hemi-Spark-Plug-Wire-Covers-Chrome... If you just wanted those, you could contact them and see if they would be willing to just sell them to you. (Hemi Clips.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Hemi Clips.jpg (41KB - 151 downloads)

Trick will be finding thin spring steel.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9880 Location: So. Cal | You could probably just use pallet bands - you know the metal straps that they use to tie pallets down. That stuff is quite springy, but not so much that you can't bend it. The hard part is going to be putting in the little bends that prevent it from galling the plug wires. But if you can do those first, you should be able to get it to work.

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Those clips, and the metal covers that go over the wires, just freak me out. Especially when used with the crummy old style spark plug wire insulation. The whole goal is to keep plug wires AWAY from metal, not purposely encase it in metal. It's just begging for an arcing to take place.

It's just begging for an arcing to take place. The pallet band metal would work. (I think). There is a product called PlastiDip that could be used to make the metal less likely to abraid through the spark plug wire insulation and cause arcing. Another alternative is to fashion the clips from plastic somehow. Would be a good 3D printing exercise. Hint Hint. (Somebody?)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9880 Location: So. Cal | In practice, you only need 2 per side. The front 2 aren't necessary. I had 2 engines with them still on there and I have distributed them out to use on 4 engines.
