Location: North Australia | Crap photos, might be a nice car though. 3 on the tree would make for an interesting driving experience!

Location: River Falls, WI | I'm going to call a question on that being a 392. Didn't 392 heads have their intake ports extended because of their extra deck height and using the same intake manifold as the 354 and 331? I can't see any evidence in the picture.

Location: DFW, TX | Paul, the 392 intake ports weren't extended - they were lowered, so that the '55-56 331/354 intake manifolds would interchange with the tall deck 392. It baffles me that they did it this way (a revised cylinder head seems like much more work than a revised intake manifold) but that's how they chose to do it.
The finger in the pic below is pointing to the ~3/8" gap present in 331/354 heads that does not exist on the 392 head.

Location: So. Cal | The gap is one thing, but the easiest way to tell is by looking at the height of the crossover port. The 354 crossover is at the top of the head, whereas the 392 version is lower. Hard to tell in picture from the car though. |
