Expert 5K+ Posts: 9911 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I placed an order in October 2016 because he said he was about to do a run of what I needed. He responded to my email in January with a long list of excuses and told me that I will be pleased when I get my order. Nothing since. I regret using PayPal because there is no way to recover my money (not a small sum) at this late date.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the rest of your life. Eventually he will give up on the excuses and just stop replying to you... 5/. Warn others.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | I just purchased these from him on Ebay. We'll see how long it takes to get them. Ebay is pretty much the only way I would buy from him. Don't post anything you don't have to sell.....that is, I am assuming it is him. It might be someone else.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrysler-300-57-58-59-park-lens-pair-new-re... Veteran Posts: 236 Location: Morgan Hill, CA | Shocking business practices. Took my money. I was lame enough to fall for his line that he would be making a run in three weeks of a 57 Desoto front emblem. A year an a half later nothing. He doesn't return emails. Send us our parts George.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | I just received notice that it was shipped and a tracking number was given to me. So far, so good. This may not be George, but I don't know of any other low volume lens manufacturer in Australia.

Expert Posts: 2996 Location: Sept. 1958 | Powerflite, that is not George. I bought a pair of park light lenses from this seller earlier this year for my 61 NYer. They did take a long time to arrive due to shipping was the economic way. But they are very nice reproduction parts and cheaper then the other outlets that make them.

Encouraged by that news, I just emailed George about the progress on my Oct. 18, 2016 order. The last time we had an email conversation it was this past December 2017 and he said he would be shipping "very soon". I asked politely for an update. We'll see.

George replied: "Hello David, good news! the Emblems are finaly finished and they are Beautiful. I will be sending your order out this coming week so your parts are not far away now. Again I am so sorry for the long delay. I hope you forgive me when you see your parts, George" I'll start holding my breath on Monday. Wish me luck.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | I just received the new lenses from Warren. That was fast! They are decent quality. The fronts of them are near perfect. The top & bottom are less clear than I would expect from a factory made lens, but still decent. You don't see those sides anyway so it doesn't matter. I am happy with them.

Well, I had *just* finally given up hope this morning (Sept 26th, 2018) and emailed George one more time "Please ship my order". Not 30 minutes later, there is a knock at the front door. It is a postie with a box from Australia that was shipped on September 19th (a week ago). Un-be-lieve-able ironic timing. I had just this am, given up and bought grill and trunk badges from AMS Obsolete (some NORS badges on ebay). Go figure. Here is what was in the box (George still owes me a dome light) and an eBay photo of the AMS badge. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | Congratulations on winning the lottery! Those emblems look really nice. I wish he would hire help so he could run a real business to meet the demand for these things. There seems to be plenty of demand out there, but not as much motivation to ramp it up to meet it.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7207 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | This was just posted on the Facebook Forward Look Page - and I paste it here with typos fixed. " Just a heads up for the comunity my great mate george laurie from Queensland has had a bad stroke - was found on his kitchen floor after 2 days laying there as he lives by himself outa town. this was 4 weeks ago, he has been recovering well but has no use of his legs? and his memory is coming back. Expert Posts: 4589 Location: Northern New Jersey | While it certainly unfortunate what happened to George, this post is not accurate! He took my $500, ten years ago, s d then stalled me until PayPal's return period ran out. He knew exactly what he was doing to me, and many others. So, no, he is not an ho e st, or an honorable man. I do hope he fully recovers, and just maybe, he will realize that you get what you give, in this life, and he will make amends for hius thievery.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | And this is one of the reasons why people don't want to put a lot of money up front. Anything can happen in the meantime (years) so you get no parts, and no refund. I would have purchased a lot of things from him, but I never did and never will. Except I did purchase a set of '58 DeSoto lenses that came from him. But I bought them through a 2nd hand outfit he was working with so they took the heat. It was safer & more expensive that way. Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | With the rejected email, there was an admin email address in case the sender (me) felt I received the message in error. I sent a message, and received the reply that the @bigpond.com server had received spam from a Yahoo email (I use a Yahoo email), and the blocked all Yahoo addresses. The email admin said they had fixed the problem and I should be able to merrily email @bigpond.com users like George.

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Just last week I happened upon several emails I exchanged with George. He cheerily acknowledged receipt of $900 of my money and then never so much as responded again. That was over 4 years ago, almost 5. That doesn't fit my description of honest, not one bit. Maybe a little karma's going around this season....

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | I have emailed George 60+ times in the past 3 years about a pair of 57/58 steering wheel cores he has of mine for a recast project which he barely started. He has replied 12 times in that 3 yrs, always with further delays. And he has my $$

Member Posts: 9 Location: Central Texas | To all the Forward Looking People, At the middle to end of July, I bought a pair of taillights and front parking lens from George. There was some back and forth emails which were completely on me. George answered all my questions. I sent the payment through PayPal. THEN I read the experiences others have had. George emailed on July 31 that the parts had been mailed. I was not hopeful based on the comments here. Today, August 22, the parts arrived in excellent condition. The parts were carefully packed. I hope my experience was not out of the norm for how George will be doing business in the future. The taillights look so good that I might used them for the state inspection and then swap out the bandaged taillights for "everyday" use. Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | To my disappointment, George cancelled his planned recasting of 1957 & 1958 steering wheels. In March 2020, George said he would return my two cores. Here it is August, five months later, and I just received them - shipping info on the package showed a March ship date, so he did as he said he would. In April 2020, he said he agreed to ship me an excellent 1957 Chrysler wheel he had for a reasonable price. I received the wheel in June, two months later - it left Oz in April.

Expert Posts: 2003 Location: Branson, MO | I heard from him just about a week ago or so when I was looking for a taillight lens for my ‘59 DeSoto. He said he makes them and offered to send me a price list. I gave him my contact info and then nothing. No more communication. It didn’t matter because I was able to find one fairly quickly anyway. I guess he makes good parts but leaves much to be desired with customer service.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 309 Location: Western Colorado | Well its good to know he is still around. He does do excellent work. He made tail light and backup light lenses for me, but the chrome inside the backup lenses started peeling off. He had to send them out to get the chrome done, so that's not his fault. He promised to make new backup lenses almost 6 years ago. We corresponded several times and then nothing for almost 3 years. I'll just have to keep on trying. Does anyone have a phone number for George? Thanks Bob

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9681 Location: So. Cal | For anyone wanting future work done, I highly recommend that you forget about the guy in Australia. Patty in Long Beach is reproducing lenses & emblems now too, and purchased Emblemagic's business. She's a much more honest & reasonable person to deal with. Go with Patty or the outfit in Sweden.
