Drive two long nails in a plank with the appropriate distance so that the loops are stretched out somewhat and spraypaint the spring - you'll like it!

Veteran Posts: 201 Location: Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia | Big Thank You to Gary from Canada with the missing pieces, I now have the correct brackets, a new longer Bowden cable which will be replacing the short Bowden Cable connected to the Cruise Controller, Just wondering, if Greg or Sven can post some photos of their Perfect Circle Auto Pilot mounted in there engine bay especially the brackets and linkages, I would really appreciate it. The Mechanism has been cleaned up and sent to my friend who will fix the wiring on the electric motor and then test it on the mechanism and the cable has been taken to a cabling place to add the alligator teeth and ball joint end. Can someone tell me about the wiring harness on this, when i got the unit it looks like the wires have been cut off at one end, please see photo...Thanks Edited by roblun 2018-04-23 4:24 AM (IMG_1118a.jpg) (IMG_1119a.jpg) (IMG_1120a.jpg) (IMG_1082.jpg) (IMG_1100a.jpg) Attachments ---------------- IMG_1118a.jpg (222KB - 254 downloads) IMG_1119a.jpg (232KB - 254 downloads) IMG_1120a.jpg (229KB - 250 downloads) IMG_1082.jpg (100KB - 253 downloads) IMG_1100a.jpg (210KB - 263 downloads)

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13055 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Just sent you some Pictures Roberto. Make a new Cable harness and use the Contact only - see my Electric drawing in page 1. If the button on the Control is a "push-in" button, then perhaps it's best to use a hydraulic safety switch, or, if difficult to find a NC hydraulic switch - mount a second mechanical one.

Veteran Posts: 201 Location: Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia | Thanks Sven for the photos, I will post some up later on, I have a mechanical safety Switch, would that be sufficient for the job, my controller has the "push in button" (DSC04275a.jpg) (Switch1a.jpg) (23435171_382409142214715_7909185895447629585a_n.jpg) (Page_2a.jpg) (Resize of Auto-Pilot_electrical_schema1.JPG) Attachments ---------------- DSC04275a.jpg (225KB - 270 downloads) Switch1a.jpg (184KB - 267 downloads) 23435171_382409142214715_7909185895447629585a_n.jpg (139KB - 263 downloads) Page_2a.jpg (234KB - 274 downloads) Resize of Auto-Pilot_electrical_schema1.JPG (112KB - 246 downloads)

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13055 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | The early Auto-Pilot all seems to have the "push-in button", which makes it impossible to pull out the switch is something fails. My guess is that this was the reason for the extra hydraulic safety switch from the beginning. Let's imagine that the contacts in the mechanical switch sticks (burns) together - then you would only have the ignition switch that can disengage the latch in the servo. The later Auto-Pilot has the "pull-out" control button, which makes it easy to push in the button for to disengage the latch. This means that the later Auto-Pilot has the following disengaging functions; The mechanical switch The hydraulic safety switch Pushing in the control button Switching off the ingition The older Auto-Pilot has the following disengaging functions; The mechanical switch The hydraulic safety switch Switching off the ingition I would install a double mechanical switch for the extra safety on an older Auto-Pilot with "push-in button" That is, if it's difficult to find a NC (Normal Closed) hydraulic switch. That said, my Auto-Pilot has never had any disengaging problems. I have one mechanical switch and no hydraulic switch since I have the "pull-out button"

Veteran Posts: 201 Location: Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia | Thank You Sven for that, I might be able to get the hydraulic safety switch for my application, its like this (Switch1a.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Switch1a.jpg (184KB - 266 downloads)

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13055 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Does the right switch has 1 or 2 prongs? If only 1, then it's a grounding switch. If this is the correct one for the earlier Auto-Pilot, then it seems like the Electric drawing I edited is not applicable.
