Location: Ramona, CA | Very little information on this car. If anyone goes to the auction, could you get the vin and a picture of the body tag? I'm figuring it had a black or black/silver interior if that's the original steering wheel. |

I wonder why they didn't photograph it better for the auction?
I've found that the vast majority of car owners do not understand the simple concept of photography. Either by taking photos in portrait orientation vs landscape or never stepping back far enough to get the whole car in the frame. Such is life...

Location: Ramona, CA | I think that's a good price if it's a solid car but it has to be to your taste with all that red and the interior the way it is. Correcting it would be expensive. Let's see where it turns up next.

| I flew to Vegas to buy the car. I don't trust pictures, wanted to see if it for myself. I was willing to go on it if it was a restored car. Besides all the stuff that's obviously not right, hood, grill and interior, there was a ton of issues otherwise. The brain box is gone on the speedo cluster, no lights. It has been creatively wired to have an under dash button to crank it. Hoses for vents/ac were disconnected and flopping around. There was a hole in the gas tank with a terrible patch that was leaking on the ground. There were holes all throughout the floor with carpet poking through. There was terrible body work above the channel above the rear glass, bubbling everywhere. All the pot metal showed considerable bubbling. This car, in my opinion, SAT outside somewhere for a long time. At some point restored, but the body work was crap. Not done well under the hood. It was pretty much 100% original underneath.
To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I've REALLY wanted a 60-61 NY HT wagon. I'm glad I flew out to look at it as I would have probably bought it off pictures. It was a driver car that will only get worse in condition, but it's still a cool car. New owner has a lot of bugs to get through I imagine. |

Thanks for the report. Just reinforces how important it is to go look at a car like this before buying it. There is a reason they didn't show a lot of pictures or provide a lot of information. Seems like that auction was full of a lot of odd cars and just mediocre mix of things.

| I am the proud new owner of the wagon, i flew out and inspected the car and found a few miner imperfections,easy fix for me as i have owned my own shop for 36 years,if this car was a rotisserie restored car it would have fetched 100k or more , it will be a fun driver, the first thing to go will be the hood and it will have all red leather interior,i have 6 kids so we will pile in it and have fun,great winter project |

That's a good way to go with it. They are very rare in any condition. Mine is going to be a driver as well. Sat in a garage in Indiana since 1978. |

| It is getting picked up by reliable, I will probly have one of my fellow forward look pales do it for me,im not great on computers,Maybe i could have Doug that i baught my 57 desoto fireflight convertible from do it or possibly Bo in Arizona do it , I sold a 1960 bowden spacelander bicycle last week end to to fund the wagon project so pretty much traded a 1960 bicycle for a 1960 wagon , works for me, its a crazy market rite now |

I've seen a picture of it. It has a lot of red paint on it and almost impossible to read the TRM and PNT codes but from what I can see it looks like it was an all white car with a terra cotta cloth and vinyl interior.

Location: Ramona, CA | Those Spacelanders are crazy expensive. I don't think you could have gotten all your kids on it at once like you can the wagon. Sounds like a good trade to me.
I traded a free 1980 Pontiac Sunbird for my 300F in a round about way. So I consider that I got my F for free. Well actually $28 since I had to buy a tire for the Sunbird... |

All-white car should be coded as WW1 = Alaskan White;
A terra cotta cloth and vinyl interior should be coded as 307…
