New User Posts: 3 | I am in need of a few final parts to return my Suburban back to as original of a condition as I'm up for. Need a tinted drivers side front door window! Looking for leads on replacing the interior vinyl over the wheel well areas and rear of the wagon. also looking for proper rubber matting to reconstruct the locking treasure chest area where a third seat could have been places. I have my original one complete with the snaps to hold it in place but it is unusable. Looking for the rear tailgate Plymouth script that I believe is held in place by 3 pins and clips. Cheers! Expert 5K+ Posts: 7809 Location: Williams California | I have about 15 '57-9 Plymouth wagons, the door glass is no problem, I may have the tailgate nameplate as well. The other items probably won't be any good on a salvage car, best bet is to find some vinyl from an upholsterer, to use. ---John | ||

Extreme Veteran Posts: 309 Location: Western Colorado | I'm sure I have the glass that you need, but any good glass shop can still get solex glass and cut it, if you have the original glass for a pattern. Concerning the vinyl wheel hump area. I tried to find an upholsterer that would cover my 58 N/Y'er 6 passenger wagon to no avail. I did finally find one guy in my area that said he would attempt it, but after being put off for over two years, I decided to do it myself. The first thing was to make a pattern, since I would be using very expensive OEM vinyl. I went to a hot tub supplier and asked if they had an old hot tub cover that I could cut the vinyl off of. They had two, so I cut it all off. After 2-3 tries I finally had a pattern that I was happy with. Cutting the new vinyl to fit was really the easy part. Gluing it on, without bubbles, was a little harder but not bad. I used Weldwood vinyl top and trim glue. I bought a cheap spray gun for $20.00 from Harbor freight which worked great. Making the pieces that cover the upper latch assembly was a real pain, but doable. In my spare tire area I bought bulk rubber matting from Legendary Auto interiors. I don't know if they have the same exact pattern for your car but they will send you small samples for free. Attached are a few pictures of my wheel hump area. I can take pictures of the spare tire area if that would help you.
