Location: Fleetwood, Pa | Gang, how easy would it be to swap a 59 Dodge torqueflite into a 57 Dodge which currently has a torqueflite? My original trans has slipping issues, which I have read seemed to be problematic to the 57 cars. I have a 59 trans and if it is indeed better, I'd rather just rebuild the 59 trans and swap them....thoughts?

Location: So. Cal | The only issue I can see would be if your old trans is air cooled and your new one is water cooled. So you would have to install a trans cooler in the bottom of your radiator, or install an add on one to the lower radiator hose like on the '55-'56 Chrysler and Imperial. |

Have a look at this info:

Location: Melbourne, Australia | Aha!.... I thought it was mid to late ‘58 where the change took place and by ‘59 it was all done... BUT in my neck of the woods, I see a LOT more parts than I do cars and the origins are not 100% accurate. Thanks for the tip. Colin |
