Expert Posts: 1267 Location: San Antonio TX | Not a whole lot of info, looks really solid though. That said, the tailgate seems to have a lot of rust (trapped water?) in it and there isn't enough pictures to tell what the car might look like underneath. https://www.dvap.com/project_car/1958-dodge-suburban-station-wagon-2dr-58dgnvd/

Location: The Mile High City | I was looking at that Sid! I couldn't tell, though! Was it the distributer location or something else that confirms? But the only big block available in the Suburban was the D-500 361 - I don't think that's under the hood. The Ram-Fire 350 was only available in the Custom Royal. I thought it might be a Super Red Ram 325 (small block) Edited by Lancer Mike 2018-03-15 9:15 PM (01.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 01.jpg (146KB - 165 downloads)

Veteran Posts: 139 | All 1958 Dodge wagons were equipped with the new-for-58 "B" engine. The 350CI Ram Fire was standard unless the D500 option was selected; then it would be the 361CI engine. No six cylinder or 325 poly V8's went into 58 Dodge wagons. Mark

Location: The Mile High City | Aha! Thanks, all! My mind is always stuck with the standard passenger cars! This Suburban looks like a very solid candidate for restoration. Just a very rare sight. Veteran Posts: 157 Location: bountiful, Utah | I have seen the car in person and remember it having lots of rust in the floorboards. I is a very rusty car using Arizona standards. ( by New England standards, this is a very good car!) This car is at their Phoenix lot where the deals are much harder to make than at their Casa Grande lot. I purchased a 57 Dodge 4 door wagon from the Casa Grande lot several years ago. It was incomplete and mostly stripped, but the body, rockers and floors had very little rust. I bought it for under $1000. I'm using this body to restore my Loaded 57 Firesweep Explorer with a rusty body that was stored in a leaky barn in Wyoming for 40 or 50 years. Water rusted through the roof and then rusted AWAY the A pillars and floors. The rest of the car is really nice, so this Dodge body is perfect for my needs. The Casa Grande lot has a 58 Plymouth 2 door wagon missing motor, transmission and most exterior trim for $1400. At least it was there a few months ago. It is a much more solid car. I have a son in Mesa and go to the Casa Grande lot every time I visit. I'll be there again in 2 weeks, but I do not go to the Phoenix lot nearly as much as the Casa Grande lot. Scott in Utah

Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | Only the second one I've seen. Here's a link to one that was in Dallas a few years back. Tinted glass and A/C, rare for a cheapie wagon! http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=20804 Edited by 57burb 2018-03-31 12:48 AM

Veteran Posts: 157 Location: bountiful, Utah | The 58 Plymouth 2 door wagon is still at the Casa Grande location. I saw it there last Monday. Parts are disappearing, but it is still mostly complete. Scott in Utah

Veteran Posts: 157 Location: bountiful, Utah | Ask for Nick. He is the guy at the Casa Grande location who runs that location for Desert Valley. I was amazed to see so much more Forward Look stuff gone when I was there Monday. So many cars and parts are disappearing right now. Get whatever you need now! there is no tomorrow Scott in Utah

Well I wasn't going to post these, but since you brought up FL's being cut up and turned into trucks, check out this Chrysler I saw at DVAP when I was there. Note the corrugated roof metal used for the bed! Edited by drosera88 2018-04-12 2:10 PM
