I am so happy I had to share this with the FL crowd..... I saved this Windsor from the wrecking yard it was destined to go to when I bought it from a lady that was moving to Australia in around 1989 or '90. Got it running in her yard and drove it home, painted it and was my daily driver until around '95 when financial situation forced its sale.(I'm not gonna lie, there was a tear) I discovered its location again in 2011 from a gentleman that said he knew of a fin car in a town north of me, so I showed him a picture and he said "that's the same car!" Never got to see it but got the lady's number (same lady I sold it to) She said it wasn't for sale but if she did she'd give me first shot. I lost her number but about 4 months ago went to the last known address and knocked on the door...no answer and have been by 2 other times still no answer. Long story short....it showed up on CL day after Christmas..Called and it was in the town south of me where I work. Talked to the son in law and made a deal. She arrived New Years Eve....got her running New Years Day and drove her around the yard using the E brake. She's sat for least 10 years according to them. She's got a 383 4barrel (took off original 2 when I first got her) power seat and windows, P/B and P/S. Now the fun begins!!

Here's some pictures from when I first painted her (have to click the link, photobucket's holding my files hostage)

Congrats. Like finding an old girlfriend who has aged well and is still hot.

She does need a facelift or at least a little facial cream. Starting to show some rust in one quarter and the corners of the doors. will have to address this soon. Busy with the house for a few years now so time and funds are limited. She will become my daily driver again though. My other mistress' (thats the wifes name for my other cars) are still waiting for the shop to be built.

Thanks all..The funny thing is when I got it running in the lady's yard back then it was running on 6 cylinders due to a poor tune up where the shop had packed two of the plugs with gunk scraping it on the head reinstalling the plugs and two of the windows didn't work due to the power block partially plugged in.... same issues now with 2 plugs not firing and now 3 windows are not working...? It was meant to be..lol

That's cool, Brian!!

I saw that car a number of years ago at Rolling hills casino, when I stopped to eat. Never did meet the owner, though.

Brian,
My story is similiar....Graduated from High School in upstate New York 1977...took a greyhound bus with a friend...got off in Houston Texas...eventually got home sick and decided we were heading home...bought 1957 Chrysler New Yorker in 1977 and drove from Texas to New York...I remember it well, it was snowing and the wipers didn't work....got back to New York, put it in a barn for 15 years. Got divorced and sold all the toys, bikes, cars, house, etc...i told the guy I sold it to that if he ever wanted to sell, to call me 1st...he stuffs it in a bran for 10 yrs. His wife starts nagging him about space in the barn and he deicdes to sell...I've had it back about 15 years now....Almost lost her and its been an uphill climb, but i wouldmt trade it for the world...
