Veteran Posts: 210 Location: Suwanee, GA | Hi all, I bought the caliper brackets (for the larger 11.75" Monaco rotors) from Roger at AAJ brakes for my 62 New Yorker. Since he calls for Monte Carlo calipers, I bought the associated brake hoses. They're ~15" long, and obviously require rerouting of the brake line. I'm thinking a longer hose might be better. Whose done this and what hose did you use? Any photos of the brake lines you can share? Also looking for an adjustable proportioning valve with 3/8-24 inverted flare ports in the valve body rather than 1/8" NPT that require adapters. Any suggestions? Thanks, Robert

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | I've done a few of discbrake conversions on my '60, '62 and '64 Chryslers with 11.75" rotors. But I used all Chrysler parts on my stuff. In all cases I recall I could simply reuse the existing hose to the calipers. Here are a number of pages from my homepage with articles and pics of the conversions, maybe you can pick out some information for your setup; https://www.bigblockmopar.nl/2011/01/1960-chrysler-newyorker-discbra... https://www.bigblockmopar.nl/2010/01/1962-chrysler-wagon-discbrake-c... https://www.bigblockmopar.nl/cars/1964-chrysler-newyorker-salon/

Elite Veteran Posts: 667 Location: Frederick, MD | I bought a proportioning/distribution valve from "The Ram Man" when I did the disc conversion to my '55 Plymouth. I don't remember the thread sizes. You may want to ask him if he has something with the port sizes you seek. http://therammaninc.com/

Expert Posts: 3779 Location: NorCal | I used the Wilwood 260-11179 combo valve on my disc conversion. All the line connections are 3/8"-24 inverted flare, built in switch and adjustable prop valve. Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | I used the AAJ kit as well, and installed the same GM calipers and lines you mention. I made all new brake lines from DOT approved Nicopp tubing and fittings. This is the set that I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015YGR0FM/ref=oh_aui_search_detai... I used a distribution block that I got from the wrecking yard out of a '77 Caprice. I don't have a lot of pictures of the install, but I do have this. (lines.jpg) Attachments ---------------- lines.jpg (226KB - 175 downloads)

Veteran Posts: 210 Location: Suwanee, GA | Hoping to get this project completed this weekend. Rotors/calipers all mounted. I ended up buying a Wilwood prop valve (single in/out with 3/8-24 ports) and picked up tubing and fittings tonight. I wasn't happy with the Monte Carlo hose length I had bought, so I ordered 18" hoses from Speedway with the 7/16" banjo on one end and 3/8-24 inverted flare on the other. This way I didn't have to relocate/modify the hard lines. I made a bracket for the prop valve to attach to the frame with the same bolt as the original distribution block, but it's a bit too close to the manifold, so I'll make another to mount it off the master cylinder/booster studs. Thanks for the pics guys.
