| I have the motor out getting rebuilt. I thought I would detail and restore the engine bay while I am at it.
Does it make any sense to remove the whole clip and strip and paint and detail the bay? I wasn't going to do the outside of the car. it is nice and old and weathered well.
I was thinking if I took it apart, I would have a lot easier time refitting the motor and I could get the bay and frame and suspension perfect.
I guess, would a dismantle be quicker than working around everything in place? It would certainly come out looking better. |

That is unless you go this route...
Drop the stub frame and steering, and restore it along w/the firewall,
install the engine into the stub frame, install the front clip on the body as an assembly,
then jack the frame/engine package up into/under the body as was done in the factory.
We did this to our F a few years back.
I had hoped to include pictures but for some odd reason cannot get them resized small enough to up-load to this site.

Curious, why all in one piece? Easier? I figured it would come off a piece at a time. |

Subframe and steering seem well beyond my skill level. I look at those torsion bars and I want nothing to do with them. They I would be into all new body mounts and hunting down hard to find parts.
Is that not pretty extreme work? |

Location: Eastern Iowa | No need to mess w/the bars till you get it on the ground.
Only what, about 8 or 10 bolts, and the whole shebang drops right down in yer lap |
