Regular Posts: 51 Location: Grass Valley,CA. | My recently purchased 56 New Yorker with the 354 Hemi had a stuck open thermostat and the engine never seemed to warm up over 140 degrees. I installed a new 180 degree one and, at least according to the dash gauge ,barely reaches the low end of the normal temp operating range. Anyone here have a spec on the one I should use for this engine ? 180?...190? Thanks in advance. Reg | ||

Reg I would see what temp it's running at fully warmed up by using one of those laser point temperature gizmos pointed at the thermostat housing. You could also put a thermometer in the radiator.
