Elite Veteran Posts: 957 Location: Signal Mountain, TN | Keep meaning to post this. This is a scan of an original dealer order code sheet I found a while back for '57 model Plymouth cars. Hope some of you can find this info useful. For the 301 V/8 Poly engine, the factory, necessarily-conservatively, intended the 2.92:1 rear end to be installed in "Plains Area" cars, and only on the T/Flite equipped cars. I've got the 2.76 rear end in Horrie, and his 325 Hemi pulls an 11 mile, 6%, 4K'-7K' grade, in the summer, in 3rd gear, without (too much) strain at 65 MPH.

This revision dates to October '56... i have a feeling originally it was to hid the body styling.. The shape is '56, but the trim is '57... Long before spy shots.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | Sorry to rehash an old thread-- especially since one of the participating members is no longer with us. Neil's insight is surely missed as I think he would be one of the best persons to talk to about my inquiry. However, that being said... does anyone have an updated dealer order code sheet for 1957 Plymouth? Midway through the year, additional options were made available (as well as changes to the coding, apparently,) because a lot of the data on my newly acquired IBM from FCA is either inaccurate or incomplete. It's an oddity, and I am trying to verify or dispell the legend that my wagon holds as to being a factory v800 car. Are there any V800 members on the forum who have their IBM from historical and would like to compare notes? Jessica
