They are difficult/impossible to read from the photo. See if you can do something like I did for my application to Chrysler Historical services today: Edited by 56D500boy 2017-01-09 11:08 PM (DaveForgiesCustomRoyalD500CowlTag_Annotated_small.jpg) Attachments ---------------- DaveForgiesCustomRoyalD500CowlTag_Annotated_small.jpg (205KB - 217 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9912 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Looks like S24 = Fireflite Paint code is probably 425 (if I read the tag right PT = 425). However, for two and three tones, "425" will refer to the combo. My 56 Dodge three tone code is 261 which was actually 561-2 which was a combo of sapphire white roof, royal blue metallic saddle and trunk and wedge wood blue main body. Desoto guys will chime in (I presume) The basic, single 56 Desoto colour options were (the two/three tone codes are on the back of this sheet (available on ebay)). OR scan through the codes on the second paint code sheet looking for all the "425" codes until you find the two or three that you need. I see "425"'s for "Shell Pink (upper)" and "White (lower)" Edited by 56D500boy 2017-01-09 11:29 PM

If so that would indicate the car I'm looking at would be correct as it has a pink upper and white lower. Does anyone know what trim #557 would be? Edited by dlyle 2017-01-10 12:24 AM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9912 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I think that the pink on the sedan that you are looking at is a repaint. (Looks too lip-stick pink and not so much shell pink). The 557 will be the interior ("trim") code (what I don't know) Here is another example of what I think is shell pink:

Someday I'll have to redo mine although I think my colors might be reversed for what paint code 425 should be. Still would like to know what trim #557 indicates for interior colors. Does anyone have some photos of a 4 door Fireflite interior(non Sportsman). I can't seem to find any good pictures online. Do the seats have any vinyl in them? SMS is telling me code 557 has three separate types of cloth needed. They don't seem to know if there was also vinyl. Edited by dlyle 2017-01-10 6:51 PM

Veteran Posts: 236 Location: Morgan Hill, CA | Found out code 557 is pink cloth. SMS says three different types are used for this code. Still would like to see pictures of what a 4 door sedan interior would look like. Dave F. :) Someone sent it to me. It's from a book titled Catalog of American Car ID Numbers 1950-1959. I ordered a copy last night. I don't have info on the Dodge but will when my book comes in. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9912 Location: Lower Mainland BC | CustomRoyal - 2017-01-12 9:01 PM Wanted to post a picture of the upholstery but can't reduce photo size for this website You can reduce photo sizes in Paint or better yet with Irfanview freeware: http://www.irfanview.com/ I have been using Irfanview for probably 10 years. For the price it works great. I typically use it to process screen captures into jpgs and/or resize jpgs. The photo upload limit of 250 kB here requires me to take a photo like the one below from 3072 X 2304 pixels = 1.41 Mb to 244 kB by opening the 1.41 Mb photo in Irfanview and then selecting the "Image" pull down menu and then Resample/Resize and manually selecting the reduction amount and setting it to 40% (of the original) and then saving the reduced photo under a new name. Takes like 30 seconds. Edited by 56D500boy 2017-01-13 1:21 PM (DaveFs56CustomRoyalD500Sept152016.jpg) Attachments ---------------- DaveFs56CustomRoyalD500Sept152016.jpg (244KB - 199 downloads)
