The new TV series "timeless" featured a 58 Imperial. This supposed to be in Vegas in 1962.

Some cars were too old but the series is pretty well done... Does this car belong to someone in here?

I'm always amazed at the contrast between cinema/television's vision of the '50s cars on the streets and the real thing (that we see sometimes on the old pictures or postcards). In cinema/television, every car is shiny, the chromes are spotless, everyone seems to own high optioned models, and you rarely see a car that's 1 or 2 years older than the year it's supposed to be happening.

In real '50s life, some cars were dirty, some were low budget cars with no option at all, and you could see cars dating from the '40s, even from the '30s sometime. Actually, it's the other way around : in 1958, for example, you saw some new '58 cars, but all the others were older cars, with a good deal of them dating from the early '50s.

But, that's show business, is it ?

EDIT : BTW, I just googled that series, and it seems a very good story ...

Sharp eye Denis!

Just because I'm prejudiced for 58's, here's a couple more shots of it.

In this particular scene you would likely expect to see more high end cars than base models, given the location and situation.
