Elite Veteran Posts: 888 Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | Is there any interest in developing a listing of what companies/individuals are making wire harnesses for newer engine/trans combos for swap projects? Do you have a name/number for your chosen supplier?

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Looking at the same thing over here for the LS (GM) series of engines. as well as the electronic transmissions I lost contact (so to speak) with the run of car car development, so I am having a learning curve at the moment to catch up

The folks at hotwireauto.co in AR. provided the wiring harness. It was not cheap, but had good instructions, all connections labeled, and outstanding tech support.

Elite Veteran Posts: 888 Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | Old Ray, I found this info awhile back but not sure if there are any current-day updates: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/5-2-5-9-magnum-efi-plug... and that is partly why I asked the opening question, that, and with hopes of a landslide of info....oh well...back to mr. google.

Wayfarer, thank you for the information, it was very helpful and informative and will be of great assistance to me. Because his harness was for EFI magnum into A body cars specifically and I am doing more of a street rod type thing and have a running donor vehicle, I am wondering if the complete engine EFI electronics and wiring can’t just be moved over with the engine / trans and the unnecessary circuits hidden away and eventually removed. I’m probably being to optimistic (as usual) but get it running / driving first BEFORE cutting any wires out! It was ironic and amusing to see his recommendation on which high pressure fuel pump to use, that was my original complete donor car but I couldn’t bring myself to use it, got cold feet and saw the light. (Might use the gas tank c/w pump though) I could not find his listings for the harness for sale on eBay anymore, so he must have got his nursing degree (You will have to read the post to understand).

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9672 Location: So. Cal | If it's for an older car, I prefer just to use an aftermarket system anyway. That way you can use your original motor without all the plastic crap on it and you can make changes to the system without having to re-map everything because aftermarket systems are self-learning these days. Just a better way to go on classic cars. But if I did want to run a newer motor in an older car, I wouldn't even think about it unless I could get an aftermarket controller that would allow me to untie the car from the OEM system. It is more expensive this way, but better off in the end.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 6500 Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | Sometime the simplest solution is the best. This system minus a pump cost less than some Harnesses. You would need a 4 barrel intake manifold though. http://www.jegs.com/i/FITech+Fuel+Injection/546/30003/10002/-1?CAWE... These can be found on sale and Ecklers has them for LGC/vette club members for $717.00 or so. Then you can deal with the tranny. Edited by mstrug 2016-11-06 9:56 PM

Expert Posts: 3777 Location: NorCal | If I was gonna do it, I'd go with Phatton's suggestion and use hotwire. http://www.hotwireauto.com/?page=sales-dcx
