It's a MoPar specific T-85 - still crazy to me that they (Borg-Warner) made so many different (model/make specific) transmissions... Thanks for the link, that brought me up to speed. Just a couple weeks ago, I had reason to research Warner T-85, and found that indeed BW had several versions of that tranny and different tail shaft housings. Looks like you have what you were looking for. Reason for my research? I found a Max Wedge T-85 with the original factory Hurst shifter. This tranny had been lost for nearly 50 years! I knew about it since 1963 when a local guy here ordered a new 63 Ply with Max Wedge and never titled it--- first thing was to make a late modle stock car out of it. I have the full story posted somewhere here on the forums. I could have hooked the guy that owns it, as he had no idea what is was other than having a Mopar input shaft. He had bought it for cheap and would sell to me for a little profit. He is a Mopar guy, and I don't operate that way. After he gets it cleaned up and ready for photos, it will be for sale. ......................MO

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | BTW, the engine pictured is for sale. It's a 1961 383. Carbs, air cleaners and linkage I'm keeping for the engine that's going in the gasser. Long rams and block-offs go with the rebuilt '61 383. Make offer if you are serious... Located in North East Ohio...

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | I love Moshers work - a true artist. I went with the short (long) rams cuz many, many, many years ago when I first built this in my head, that's what I wanted. Thank you for the kind words 196061savoy- I'll send that PM, hopefully we can work something out... Chuck my friend, I HOPE it's street legal. I have a title and historical plate for it so I won't have to get it inspected. Still haven't fired it up yet to see what the baffles at the end of the headers will do- that's the only exhaust on the car. All the lights work as well as the wipers (not that I'll be taking it out in the rain with the slicks and all) so, we shall see if Johnny Law harasses me or not !!!

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | Steve, I have thought about lettering and have (what I think is) a great idea. Don't have the money to get vinyl wrap stuff right now, but prolly someday... Chuck I got the store bought ones- they came with extra stainless padding (which I'm not using at first, maybe never) and that's what made me go with the manufactured ones. My first thought when I opened the box was, why didn't I think of this ! Very simple and the dude that manufactures and sells them is probably on a beach somewhere... Expert 5K+ Posts: 5139 Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | JMO. but with the theme you have going, I don't think I would do a wrap. The places that do custom vinyl lettering can come up with really cool lettering styles, or you can provide them with a style that you like. They can show you how they will look before actually making them. And they are easy to put on and very affordable.............................MO

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | Yeah, the vinyl lettering would be the way I'd go. Just didn't do a good job describing it. I had no idea it wasn't that expensive - I'll look into it for sure. I will be satisfied with driving it as is for now. It came together and made it for the show this weekend. I'll post some pics...

Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | It was pretty cool to see people's reactions - not too many folks even knew what kind of car this was. I wasn't at the display much, but whenever I would stop by, I was told even "MoPar" guys didn't know Chrysler made a car like that (guess it is opposite end of the Cuda spectrum) (it also tells me there's not too many TRUE MoPar guys!!!) Expert Posts: 2612 Location: Parts Unknown | Well, it's home. I missed the summer but hope to get some riding in this fall. Seems like something always goes a different direction than my plans, but I really can't complain. The old T85 is gonna be a learning experience for sure. Non-sync first gear, an engine that wants to die out (dash pot works, but I'm missing some vacuum from the cam) will provide for some entertainment for sure. Not to mention open headers on the streets. Should be fun... Said goodbye to my truck. 1960 D100. Lots of fun, but time to let it go... Extreme Veteran Posts: 509 Location: Whetstone, Arizona | B/G 61 . What engine mounts did you use?....I might of missed what you used reading through the thread.....as I have a factory set of 1961 D500 "HP" engine mounts I'm thinking of selling if your interested...I pulled them off a 1961 D500 police car...and the police car did have the D500 badge on the rear..i have a 1961 Dodge parts catalog with the part #'s.........i'll go see if the car is still there and take a photo of it...the badge is gone but the outlines are still there....I pulled and kept the VIN and Data tag off the car...its laying in a wash here in AZ.....I got the torsion bars and 12" brakes off it too....but have since sold them
