I'm looking for pictures of the 300F display at the 1960 Chicago Auto Show that took place January 16-24, 1960.

While checking out the Chicago Auto Show web site, they show a couple DeSoto pictures. In the background you can see their slogan that says "The Car with the Built in Future". They were gone before the 1961 show. They do mistakenly state that the Adventurer came standard with the ram engine.

Here's a link to their site - http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/history/1901/#1960

Still looking for pictures of the 300F display, I've found two in books, one supplied by Chrysler so I've written to them to see if they can help.

Unfortunately I didn't get to attend a Chicago Auto Show until '62 though I was born in suburban Chi-town. And that year a white pilot-build '62 Avanti was the most impressive thing this 14 year old saw. The fin cars were all gone (but never forgotten from the streets).

The picture book I have titled "World's Greatest Auto Show - Celebrating a Century in Chicago" has a ton of pictures that aren't shown on the web site. No picture of the Avanti in '62. They do have pictures of the Ford Gyron and the Chrysler Turbine cars. I bet their actual archive is a great treasure trove of pictures from the shows over the years.

My original interest in the Chicago Auto Show comes from the fact that it is the show where the color Panther Pink was introduced in 1970. The show car was a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Six-Pack convertible, which still exists.
