1955 Custom Royal for sale.

The vehicle is located in Clear Brook Virginia.

It has a clean title

I do not have much information on it.  It was parked out doors for an unknown number of years.

It has a V8.  The valve covers read "Super Red RAM".

We have additional pictures.  Unfortunately no interior pictures.   As I recall, the interior appeared complete and original.

Super Red Ram IS a HEMI, spark plug wires are concealed under the cover on valve covers.

Now that you point it out, I see the cover hiding the wires.

Thank you

Is it yours or are you selling for someone else? I would have to know the condition of the underside of the car before even thinking about value. When are you going to pull it out?

Catch ya later.

Its part of an estate sale.  I'm the executor.

The property has about 16 vehicles and this is one of them.  Unfortunately, I have no idea as to the undercarriage condition.   I was just there and took many pictures, but I'm now many states away.

Are you going to sell them outright or are you going to have an auction?

Catch ya later.

They will be each sold separately. My uncle was all about the hunt. He would find vehicles he liked, but once he had them, he would just leave them on the property, unprotected and unloved. The worst part is there an enormous barn on the property which could have housed all the vehicles.

The bulk of the vehicles are 60's Chevy Trucks.

Of the more interesting vehicles:

56 Hudson Hornet Special Super

55 Custom Royal Hemi

~1926 Chevy Truck  (only vehicle stored in the barn, and has been stored in the barn for 40+ years)

The "Super Red Ram" 1955 Dodge engine was the standard Custom Royal model engine, in 1955.

It featured the 270 c.i. Hemi-head V/8 engine, 2-bbl/single exhaust, which engine block it shared with the Coronet and Royal models.

It was rated at 183 HP.

For OEM optional engine performance, on the Custom Royals, Dodge offered a 4-bbl engine (still 270 c.i.) and dual exhausts, which increased the
HP rating to 193.

The 1955 Dodge models could be slightly modified by their owners, to provide excellent performance, due to their
favorable power:weight ratios.

That "Custom" nameplate, on the quarter panel, designates your ride's model-identity.

Should you elect to restore your car, the members of this website can provide excellent
restoration information and advise!

You'll have a good performing, excellent looking ride...that features comfortable, chair-height seating!

So, what is the status on this car's availability?

The 55-56 Mopes have "chair height" seats, which mean that they are very comfortable to ride-in.

Combine that with the sporty 2-dr HT body, and a (slightly modified....) Super Red Ram engine and chassis,
and you'd have a NICE factory hot-rod, in the top-of-the-line model!

What is very interesting about this project is that you could mechanically upgrade the car, while keeping it
'stock' looking, and NOT have to "re-restore/repair" any poorly-done, earlier work on the car!

We found an older photo from the early 90's.  In the picture the car is parked exactly where it is now  The trees and lawn are manicured and the car looks great.    Apparently it has been in that spot ever since and the trees have grown around it.

The tentative plan is to pull each of the many vehicles from their current locations, get them lightly cleaned up, get the engines running (if practical), and then put them on ebay.   This is to happen around September.

I dunno if I'd want to try to get one of these long-dead engines 'running', but, if the engine could be confirmed as being
"freed-up", that's about all that a prospective owner could hope for, given that the engine would/will require a complete
overhaul, at any rate.
